Collaborate with design teams to implement strategies for decarbonization, energy efficiency and occupant comfort. Preferred: conduct whole-building lifecycle assessments and building envelope analysis. Interpret and effectively communicate high-performance, sustainable design requirements, goals and concepts to project teams through written reports, data visualization (graphics), and presentations. Teach project teams to run and interpret different analyses to increase their design performance capabilities. Review results of colleagues' analyses for quality and accuracy. Learn and maintain custom in-house tools, and be able to develop new tools for measuring environmental and human performance in the built environment Craft new workflows to ease the integration of performance analytics into the design process Contribute to a high-energy global team in support of projects in multiple offices What you will need to succeed: 10+ years of experience in building performance analyses, energy modeling, sustainability and climate resilience, with at least 2 years of experience in Architecture practice. Proficiency in energy modeling tools (e.g., IES VE, EnergyPlus, OpenStudio). Proficiency with daylight analysis tools (e.g., Climate Studio, Radiance, Honeybee). Experience with whole-building lifecycle assessment software (e.g., Tally, OneClick LCA) preferred. Experience with Revit, Rhino, or other architectural production software. Understanding of the architectural design and delivery process. Understanding of resilience, electrification and decarbonization, passive design, energy/water performance. Ability to develop and communicate simple, elegant solutions to highly technical problems. Proven expertise in integrating holistic green building strategies across diverse markets and project scales. The Secure Spaces Architect will lead the design, development, and delivery of secure facilities for Federal clients, in compliance with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 and other applicable standards. This senior-level role requires a deep understanding of secure space requirements, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) or Special Access Program Facility (SAPF), secure communications centers, and other classified environments. The Secured Spaces Architect will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, Federal agencies, and contractors to deliver innovative, compliant, and functional designs that meet the unique needs of secure operations. As a subject matter expert, the Secure Spaces Architect will also provide strategic guidance, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development efforts by supporting proposals and client engagement. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership * Lead the architectural design of secure spaces, including SCIFs, SAPF, secure conference rooms, and other classified environments, in compliance with ICD-705, DoD standards, and client-specific requirements. * Collaborate with Accrediting Official (AO), and supports the development of Construction Surveillance Plans (CSP). * Develop detailed design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, and specifications, that meet security, operational, and aesthetic goals. * Provides technical coordination both in with designers and contractor for the design of acoustical and Radio Frequency (RF) shielding requirements in compliance with UFC 4-010-05 and ICD 705. * Collaborate with engineers, security consultants, and other disciplines to integrate physical security measures, such as access control, intrusion detection, and acoustic protection, into facility designs. * Conduct design reviews and oversee quality assurance to ensure adherence to Federal standards and project objectives. Client Engagement * Leads client engagement activities for assigned clients and assigned target clients. In this role, we are seeking an architect with good technical, conceptual, visual and communication skills to work in a highly collaborative and design focused studio.
