Mends or replaces costumes and other figure coverings. Painting processes to include properly assessing, mixing, and applying airbrush and/or faux paint techniques, automotive paint applications, as well as wet/dry brush and sponge painting + Maintain sets within Rides and Shows to include planning/preparing for work, cleaning, sculpting, construction, painting, cleaning of work area, and documenting work. Maintenance of show sets to include mending or replacing backdrops, curtains, scrims, and other set related soft materials. Painting techniques to include brushing, rolling, blending, spraying, and faux finishing techniques of show sets. + Maintain, fabricate, and install show props to include planning/preparing for work, cleaning, molding, casting, construction, finishing/painting, cleaning of work area, and documenting work. + Assist Ride and Show Maintenance with access into figures, props, and sets for their inspections and repairs to include mechanical disassembly and assembly of parts related to animated figures. + Maintain, fabricate, and install/embed fasteners and attachments for animated figures, sets, and props. This can include buckles, straps, zippers, snaps, stand-offs, tabs, and various inserts. + Inspect figures, sets, props, shop facilities, equipment, and tools for any wear/damage and document findings. Assist in show quality walk-throughs, assessing animated figures, show sets and props for necessary repairs and improvements. + Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. + Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE) Knowledge of painting techniques and color mixing Ability to read and interpret working drawings and renderings. Preferred knowledge with safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Ability to work in a fast-paced, energized and quickly changing environment. Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work independently and as a team player. Detail oriented, able to prioritize efficiently and multi-task. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS Prolonged periods of standing and bending Ability to regularly move and lift 30-50 lbs. Regular ladder and MEWP (Personnel Lifts) work at heights up to 30 feet Typical hours are during the day, but the position requires the flexibility to be available for weekend, holidays, and evening work hours as needed.
