1917

The foundation for what is now AAM was established in 1917 when General Motors Corporation built an aircraft parts manufacturing facility in Detroit, on the land where AAM’s World Headquarters and flagship North American facility now stands.

1994

On March 1, 1994, AAM became a stand-alone, independent and multi-billion-dollar tier 1 automotive supplier.

2005

AAM launched driveline system with SmartBar™ Electronic Stabilizer System for 2005 Ram Power Wagon

2017

AAM completes the acquisition of Metaldyne Performance Group Inc. (April 6, 2017)

2018

AAM's World Headquarters achieves LEED Certification through year 2018, a designation from the US Green Building Council for buildings with optimum energy, water usage and air quality efficiencies

AAM is recognized by General Motors as a 2018 Supplier of the Year for third consecutive year

2020

Chairman and CEO David C. Dauch is named a 2020 Automotive News All Star
