    IT Server Specialist/Administrator GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES: The IT Server Specialist / Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth operation of IT infrastructure at the Astemo. This includes maintaining and supporting servers, networking equipment, cabling, corporate applications, printers, document scanners, and related technologies essential to plant operations. This is a cross-functional, regional role that extends beyond local site support. In addition to managing the Farmington Hills facility's IT environment, the role involves implementing regional IT initiatives and projects at the local level, as well as providing broader regional support as needed. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Manage/support local/regional servers, multifunction and single function printers, special purpose appliances and various peripheral devices in a Microsoft Active Directory environment. Work with a local and regional teams to support the implementation of local and regional sites' network initiatives and projects. Work with vendor support as necessary to quickly resolve problems. Provide general support as needed within the support process for network and IT infrastructure in an Active Directory environment. Assist in supporting backups and the backup process, including restores, DR testing, and related functions. Support core business applications in areas of responsibility. Participate in a variety of audit tasks and duties for physical inventory as required. Support computer room infrastructure (power, backup power, air conditioning, humidity control). Support manufacturing plant floor applications for data collection, traceability and ensure support availability when needed for critical plant related events or if downtime requires. Support manufacturing plant floor hardware such as bar code printers, bar code scanners and mobile computers as needed. Support business communication systems including phone and video conferencing systems. Demonstrate flexibility to support local and regional initiatives as needed to meet business objectives. Assist when needed to support network infrastructure including access, distribution, LAN, switching, cabling, and associated infrastructure. Support cloud-related corporate applications in areas of responsibility. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Minimum five years experience in an IT systems administration and support role or equivalent area. Proficient with Microsoft Operating Systems (both GUI and CLI) including Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Server 2019, Server 2022. Advanced knowledge of all aspects of Active Directory management. Good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking. In-depth understanding of networking services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP). Competent understanding of intra-network communication within a datacenter environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software suite Able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs as required to perform repairs on IT related equipment. Ability to physically inspect equipment in cramped or tight locations. Required to carry a company cell phone and be on call during off schedule work times. Experience within the automotive or manufacturing sector would be an asset. Experience collaborating with remote teams and team members is desired. The Systems Administrator will be tasked with working across a broad range of technologies and/or depth in a few technologies. This may include support for servers, host systems, voice, data, automation, security, storage networks, cloud systems, and domain management. Responsible for delivering robust, reliable, and scalable solutions. Keeps IT systems and the business running while enabling quick responses to both geographic growth and IT systems growth. Involved with the strategy, KFI infrastructure, and/or end user systems, and project planning. This position must also exhibit exceptional work that embodies the Kalmbach core values. This role is seated in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, with no option for hybrid or remote work. The Role * Collaborate with all IT staff to implement robust, reliable, and scalable infrastructure, security, and/or end user systems (rather than the low-cost solution with higher TCO) that will advance the IT strategy * Execute lifecycle management replacement of systems - physical hosts/servers, SANs, switches, access points, other networking equipment, and Server OS updates and upgrades, or end-user software * Participate in planning for these lifecycle management replacement projects * Responsible, along with the team, for maintaining the uptime of critical systems * Execute new site implementations with the team * Execute security and vulnerability patching and other security initiatives * Participate in the effort to gather input from business plans, application owners, life cycle replacements, and emerging technologies to create future plans * Participate in cross-functional teams to evaluate new systems and implement these systems in a way that minimizes support requirements * Collaborate with a larger IT team to establish technical standards * Document system standards and/or end-user guides * Apply analytical skills to resolve complex problems * Identify and mitigate risk * Train other IT team members to empower them to support the systems * Recommend solutions using performance benchmarks, data, and critical analysis when requested * Build out and/or define meaningful metrics and leverage them for continuous improvement * Continuous education and/or monitoring of industry trends and technologies that are relevant for KFI * Act as a point of escalation to provide level 2/3 support for servers, host systems, voice, data, automation, security, storage networks, cloud systems, and domain management * Responsible for after-hours call rotation * Performs other duties as assigned Skills and Experience * Bachelor's degree in an IT or Engineering discipline preferred. Equivalent experience with demonstrated results and experience will be considered. * Experience with technologies such as Windows Server, Azure, VMware, SQL, and Active Directory * Minimum 2 years' experience supporting an IT environment with 75+ Windows Servers, 50+ Switches, and 300+ end users * In-depth understanding of vulnerabilities and cybersecurity best practices * Cybersecurity-related certification is preferred but not required * Fundamental understanding of L2/L3 networking * Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, logic, and forensics skills * Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills * Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with a level of self-initiative to do this without management support * Strong customer service orientation * Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment * Ability to lead team projects * Excellent organizational skills * Available to work in a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week environment About the Company: Kalmbach Feeds offers the highest quality nutritional products for livestock, poultry, and companion animals.
