Mike brings over 20 years of medical device industry experience to Sonitus. Prior to joining Sonitus in June 2012, Mike accumulated broad cross-functional experience in medical device companies of various sizes with products in diverse therapeutic areas. Mike served as Senior Vice President of Science, Technology & Operations for Ventus Medical where he led the R&D, manufacturing, clinical, quality, regulatory and reimbursement functions for this venture-backed company with a novel device for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. While at Ventus, Mike led the organization through several product launches, the completion and publication of 7 clinical studies, and the scaling up of manufacturing to support commercial launch. Mike also held vice president level positions in R&D and operations in the Cardiac Surgery business units of Guidant, Boston Scientific and Maquet. Additionally, Mike held various positions in the Cardiac Rhythm Management business of Guidant including leadership roles in R&D and project management as well as roles in field clinical, design and manufacturing engineering. Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Minnesota.

Experienced Chief Medical Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the medical device industry. Skilled in medical devices, neuromodulation, closed loop brain stimulation, neurology, electrophysiology, epilepsy. Designed, executed and completed feasibility and pivotal PMA trials for a Class 3 medical device that led to panel track approval. Responsible for team conducting pre- and post-market clinical studies, new indication IDE studies and external clinical research collaborations. Also responsible for preclinical research, leading group of engineers and scientists performing machine and deep learning analyses of brain data, brain imaging and network visualization. Directs national team of field clinical engineers supporting physicians and patients. Successful in obtaining NIH and other external funding for research portfolio. Boarded in neurology and in epilepsy and extensively published in medical literature, with multiple national and international presentations.

Rebecca Kuhn has been Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance and Administration at NeuroPace since May 2000. Before joining NeuroPace, Ms. Kuhn served as Treasurer and Director of Finance at Heartport, Inc., a medical device company in the field of minimally invasive cardiac surgery. She joined Heartport in 1992 around the company's inception and was instrumental in completing its initial public offering in 1996. Previously, she served as an independent financial consultant to small businesses and was Director of Finance and Operations for a division of Reebok International, Inc. She began her career in 1983 at Arthur Andersen & Co. where she worked for 4 years in the audit division. A certified public accountant (inactive status), Ms. Kuhn earned a B.S. in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, summa cum laude, and an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
