New Life Christian Church company history timeline

1951

The Bridlewood Church had started in 1951 as Donlands Brethren in Christ Church at 150 Gamble Avenue under the charge of Myrtle and Ruth Steckley, former mission workers in Houghton.

1952

R. Lofthouse became the first pastor of this work in 1952.

1963

Paul Hostetler, Donlands accepted the challenge to move the church to 480 Huntingwood Drive in Scarborough, where The Bridlewood Brethren In Christ Church was eventually built in 1963.

1975

Our first worship service with Pastor Doug leading was on July 13, 1975 with 33 people packed into the Kittredge living room at 301 Lorraine Avenue.

It was at a TV station on August 31, 1975 that New Life celebrated its first communion service with 52 present, and the message of the Gospel through New Life has been cast broadly ever since.

1985

With the increase in church membership, its ministries and a view to expand our ministry to house Fredericksburg Christian School, in 1985 New Life purchased property in Spotsylvania County, our present location, through contact between Mrs.

1988

1988 – Steve Arterburn founds New Life Treatment Centers (NLTC), a for-profit entity.

1994

1994 – NLTC acquires the Minirth Meier Clinics.

1996

Included in this was a study of the Westminster Confession of Faith which was adopted by 1996.

2000

2000 – In November, Every Man’s Battle Workshops launched.

The New Life Counselor Network was formed in 2000.

2001

Bobby, his wife Jill, and their family became a part of NLC in December of 2001 when they sold their business in Baton Rouge, LA, and moved to join the Bezets as part of the original launch team of New Life Church.

By 2001, the two churches began negotiations for the mutual benefit of both congregations to form a new church under two denominations.

2001 – NLM begins its monthly giving program, Club New Life.

2002

2002 – Lose it For Life Workshops begin.

2003

2003 – New Life sells Calvary Rehabilitation Center.

2004

2004 – Healing is a Choice and Every Heart Restored Intensive Outpatient Programs begin.

Larry started with New Life in 2004, and has held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and now as President.

2005

2005 – Post workshop group coaching begins.

2006

2006 – New Life Weekends launch across the United States.

2008

2008 – New Life celebrates 20 years.

2010

2010 – The New Life Resource Center and Warehouse move to Richardson, TX. 2010 – New Life Live! begins to air on cable television.

2011

2011 – New Life hosts its first webinar.

2011 – New Life Marriage Workshops begin.

2013

2013 – New Life and Steve Arterburn celebrate 25 years.

2014

In January 2014, after 30 years as Senior Pastor, Bishop Zink started a new work in apostolic ministry while his son, Paul II, was installed as New Life’s Lead Pastor.

2016

2016 – New Life moved it’s office from Laguna Beach to Lake Forest, adds two new intensive workshops, Intimacy in Marriage and Take Your Life Back.

2017

In 2017, Tyler joined staff full-time as the Director of OBU at New Life Church.

2018

2018 – New Life and Steve Arterburn celebrate 30 years.

In 2019, Pastor Doug Kittredge, together with his wife Mary Jane, decided it was time to step aside and ask God to provide the next leader for the church.
