The Wall, Sledge, Singleton, and Campbell families and joined together with their diverse backgrounds in the forest products business to build a sawmill near Conway, SC in 1957.
During 1983 a new modern sawmill was built in Camden, SC in partnership with Stora of Sweden.
Joe Singleton became the President of the Company and headed up the business until his death in 1985 at which time he was succeeded by his son Mack.
New South Companies was acquired by Canfor in 2006.
