New York Junior Tennis and Learning (NYJTL) is one of the largest afterschool tennis and education-themed community organizations in the United States. We offer comprehensive school and community-based programs throughout New York City's five boroughs, serving more than 85,000 youth ages 5-18 every year.
The NYJTL afterschool program provides children with safe and nurturing environments in which they can learn and thrive academically, while receiving critical support to reach their potential both on and off the tennis court. The NYJTL afterschool program operates in elementary, middle and high schools located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. NYJTL is seeking bright, dedicated individuals who have a strong interest in working with after-school programs.
Position Summary
The Education Specialist is critical in establishing and maintaining program quality by supporting frontline staff in effectively implementing program activities. Education Specialists must be able to develop lesson plans and reinforce learning with the aid of Group Leaders. They also must be skilled in engaging children. Education Specialists should have knowledge of after-school programs and the mandates of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOH)
Core Responsibilities
Review lesson plans and ensure all activities are designed with learning goals or skill gains
Work with Group Leaders, engaging them in the lesson plan development process and modeling activity facilitation to help Group Leaders develop professionally and eventually to become Activity Specialists.
Supervise participants while maintaining order, providing a conducive learning environment, ensuring their safety.
Facilitate purposeful activities that foster the development of new skills in children, while reinforcing skills/information previously taught.
Assist in all activities needed for the orderly operation of the program, inclusive of: supervising children during snack/supper, facilitating dismissal, conducting field trips, hosting special events, etc.
Provide strong classroom and behavioral management skills, ensuring that all participants follow agency and program rules.
Complete all projects and tasks as requested, while ensuring the safety and security of all participants and the smooth operation of programming.
Attend and supervise children during special projects and field trips, including those which occur outside of regular program hours.
Complete 15 hours of professional development each calendar year.
Attend all meetings, training workshops and special events, as required, inclusive of those outside of program hours.
Serve as a positive and engaging role model for students; work with students one-on-one when necessary and be flexible to meet their needs.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Teaching certificate preferred but not required
Two years' experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children.
Exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to create interactive academic and/or enrichment activities that are age appropriate. Please note we will ask for a sample lesson plan during the interview process.
Genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities and field practice.
Ability to work as part of a team within a school community.
Ability to communicate and work effectively and respectfully with a broad range of diverse constituents.
Knowledge of tennis or a willingness to learn preferred.

Position Summary:
The NYJTL is seeking experienced tutors for our ACES After School Program. Candidate must have a strong interest in working with youth in after-school settings. We are seeking dynamic and engaging presenters, who possess the ability to motivate others, as part-time English and Math tutors.
This tutor will be able to connect one on one with elementary and middle school aged students. The ideal candidate must be able to display the ability to customize learning plans for each student. Responsible for the planning and implementation of a discipline or content-specific program activity such as Math with English experience. The ideal candidate will introduce new skills and reinforce learning. Under the direction of the Program Manager, or Director, the Tutor will implement educational enrichment activities for various groups in the program.
Core Responsibilities:
Provides individual and group tutoring in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and study skills to students.
Ensures the safety and engagement of children in assigned activities.
Develops weekly activity lesson plans in the discipline or content-themed area for which he/she was hired.

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Porter, is a critical role in PAL and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in the facility while also performing maintenance tasks. This role reports to the Center Director. This role also supports other PAL sites and provides cleaning and maintenance support for staff across other PAL sites. Assist with maintenance duties as required including but not limited to changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, painting, and maintaining equipment, changing light ballasts, etc.
Report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly and enter maintenance tickets in PAL's ticketing system for new issues.
Escorting vendors for repairs & maintenance / inspection visits - assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues - communicating issues back to supervisors

Position Summary:
PAL is seeking an IT Support Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of computer systems, hardware, and IT infrastructure. He or she will be responsible for on-site support across all PAL's NYC 17 locations for networked PCs, laptops, VOIP phones, PAL issues mobile phones, printers, PAL's Microsoft Active Directory domain and hosted in Azure and locally and troubleshooting various network devices including switches and routers. Additionally, PAL relies heavily on the Office 365 Suite online tools, to support both on-site and hybrid work for all staff. The IT support Engineer will work closely with the Operations team, PAL's IT Business Partner providing enterprise managing IT services.
The IT Support Technician will report to the Director of Operations and work collaboratively with other Operations and IT staff.
What you'll do:
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, peripherals, operating systems issues.
Support new desktop, laptop and mobile phone user setup and mobile device management solution, including orienting staff on new equipment.
Serve as one of the primary contact to support internal company, end users, and IT operations
Update PAL's IT Ticketing system to ensure that all tickets are resolved and documented appropriately
Provide on-site critical support at PAL locations to troubleshoot, resolve, and accurately documents various technical problems and resolutions (i.e. software, hardware and company specific applications)
IT Administration and Maintenance:
Responsible for hardware and software inventory management and administration
Administration of Microsoft Exchange 365 and Active Directory
Assist with IT projects including new IT system implementations and upgrades
Apply analytical skills in order to solve complex technical problems and recommend alternatives
Support day to day administrative operations such as account management, application monitoring, and staff scheduling needed to maintain systems.
Coordinate with HR to support IT onboarding and off-boarding tasks for new employees including AD account management and IT equipment set up / provisioning
Troubleshoot and coordinate issues with PAL's Internet Service Provider Vendors and other IT vendors.
IT Project Management and Customer Service:
Provide the highest level of technical support to employees locally and remotely
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with company staff, vendors, and IT business partners using strong customer service skills
Respond promptly and clear to any tickets submitted in PAL's IT ticketing system and keep the ticketing information up to date.
Work closely with PAL management team & PAL's IT Business Partner to assure seamless communication between computers and network-based systems and peripherals.
Continuously document IT operations process to assist with maintaining knowledge base
Performs other IT related duties as required

The Part-Time Coordinator of Licensing and ACES Compliance has full accountability regarding the completion and submission of all required NYS Office of Children and Family Services and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) School-Age Child Care (SACC) documentation concerning elementary and middle school after-school programs operated by the Organization. This includes managing the entire SACC registration, post registration and renewal approval process. In addition, the compliance Coordinator of Licensing and ACES Compliance plays a critical role in the Organization applying for and receiving DOHMH approved summer program permits. As a PT Coordinator of Licensing and ACES Compliance, an essential function of this position is to also develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal program staff and external licensing regulatory staff. Core Responsibilities
Supports internal and external collaboration efforts with ACES senior program leadership, managers, and site directors to help determine which after-school programs qualify as SACC programs.
Helps ensure programs adhere to DOHMH standards by contributing to the monitoring of application statuses, maintaining submission integrity, and assisting with renewals as needed.
Builds and maintains strong, positive working relationships with DOHMH Directors, Borough Supervisors, Registrars, and other key regulatory partners.
Aids in the Site Leadership SCR clearance process by helping ensure timely processing for Site Directors, Site Supervisors, and Assistant Site Directors, and keeping program stakeholders updated on license statuses.
Works closely with the Director of Training to help coordinate required SACC trainings and ensure accurate tracking of certifications for compliance purposes.
Assists with summer permit submissions by helping to prepare and organize documentation, ensuring DOH deadlines are met and appropriate site notifications are completed.
Supports the preparation and tracking of DOHMH Corrective Action Plans by helping to identify discrepancies and meet internal submission deadlines. Participates in program visits (both scheduled and unscheduled) to support SACC compliance and help ensure all required documentation is maintained on-site.
Helps create visit reports summarizing observations, identifying any potential violations, and providing suggestions for corrective actions in collaboration with leadership.
May provide support or coordination for additional compliance staff under the direction of supervisors.
Distributes and collects SACC applications and attestation forms from identified after-school programs, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.

Position Summary
NYJTL is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Social Worker to support the emotional wellness in our school-based afterschool programs. This role is based on-site and focuses on student mental health, staff support, and nurturing a positive school culture. The Social Worker will collaborate closely with the Program Director and afterschool team to implement trauma-informed and restorative practices, provide short-term interventions, and lead small group sessions aligned with our Mental Health Skill Building curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Provide short-term emotional and behavioral support to students during afterschool hours
Facilitate small groups focused on emotional regulation, peer relationships, and stress management
Collaborate with Program Directors toidentifystudent needs and support trauma-informed programming
Coach afterschool staff on best practices in restorative and trauma-informed approaches
Coordinate with caregivers and school-day personnel to ensure continuity of support
Support the implementation and analysis of pre- and post-program surveys to assess SEL growth
Participate in weekly reflective supervision to deepen practice and skill-building
Qualifications
MSW, LMSW, or BSW withsignificant experiencein child or youth services
Experience working with children in educational or afterschool settings
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, social-emotional learning (SEL), and restorative practices
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
Cultural humility and comfort working with students and families from diverse backgrounds
Preferred
Bilingual in Spanish or another language commonly spoken in NYC schools
Familiarity with NYC DOE/DOH afterschool programming

We are looking for a part-time Dance Specialist who will be responsible for developing and implementing a broad range of cultural and/or fine arts activities. Introduce participants to activities that promote creativity and self-expression for participants in the program. Direct and oversee all arts & crafts, creative, and performance activities according to the curriculum and/or center needs, in preparation for displays and entertainment at the PAL Celebration events. Plan, organize, and manage arts programming that is cohesive within the scope of the program. Perform administrative duties that support the above primary functions.
Major Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure that age-appropriate activities are implemented for youth in 6-8th grades.

Make periodic reports/announcements on program activities and evaluate participation, progress, and development of program youth.
Responsible for the inventory, ordering, care, and maintenance of all related supplies and equipment.
File incident reports (accidents, injuries, altercations) no later than the day of the incident.
When directed, attend meetings with staff, parents, volunteers, and community residents as needed to assist in program delivery and promotion of programs.

A minimum of two years of academic preparation in fine arts or other equivalent training.

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Porter, is a critical role in PAL and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in the facility while also performing maintenance tasks. This role reports to the Center Director. This role also supports other PAL sites and provides cleaning and maintenance support for staff across other PAL sites. This role ensures a safe and sanitary environment for all occupants and requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently.

Cleaning Duties:
Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of assigned areas, including restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas and ensure supplies are restocked.
Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean windows and surfaces as needed.
Empty trash bins and disposal of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
Ensure supplies, such as paper towels, soap, and cleaning materials are ordered and stocked using PAL's purchase order system.
Maintain and clean custodial equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
Maintenance Tasks:
Update and resolve tickets as assigned withing PAL's facility maintenance tracking system
Assist with maintenance duties as required including but not limited to changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, painting, and maintaining equipment, changing light ballasts, etc.
Report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly and enter maintenance tickets in PAL's ticketing system for new issues.
Escorting vendors for repairs & maintenance / inspection visits - assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues - communicating issues back to supervisors
Porter/Transporting supplies to transport and deliver supplies and to conduct maintenance activities across sites as needed for events or other coverage.
Safety Compliance:
Follow standards of DOH, DOB, FDNY, HPD and ECB Departments.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure cleaning, facility maintenance and equipment are operated and up to date using School Aged Child Care (SACC) Licensed standards. Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and efficiently, as per SACC licenses.
Opening & closing walkthroughs daily ensuring spaces are secured and reporting any issues
Use cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment according to safety standards.
Work closely with other operations team members, custodial and maintenance staff to support overall facility operations.

Position Summary
The Education Specialist is critical in establishing and maintaining program quality by supporting frontline staff in effectively implementing program activities.
