Position Summary
This position is responsible for Nuclear Operations procedure preparation, maintenance, and reviews. Also performs all aspects of Nuclear Operations procedure writing and development. Reviews changes to Operations procedures to ensure that the changes are technically accurate, applicable, and in conformance with regulatory requirements and applicable Operations Writer's Guides. Further, the Operations procedures can be implemented without adversely affecting plant, personnel, or equipment safety.
Essential Responsibilities
Use Document Control and Engineering Records to retrieve vendor manuals, references, prints, schematics, design documents, FSAR, etc, to collect information. Use collected information to create detailed step by step instructions to safely operate or maintain reactor plant equipment, including Nuclear Operations procedures used for administrative processes or programs.
Given a performance problem associated with a Nuclear Operations procedure, determine cause of problem and develop corrective actions to correct the procedure.
For a given operational task, identify the steps to complete the task, list task steps sequentially, write concise directions to accomplish each step in-accordance-with Operations Procedure Writers guide (write a procedure). Determine if task can be captured in existing procedures or if a new operating procedure is needed.
Act as procedure process subject-matter-expert for non-dedicated procedure writers at affected site, with relation to procedure processing and procedure change request processing requirements.
Continuously pursues personal development, learning and qualifications to support operational needs. SRO Certification qualification must be achieved and maintained at earliest opportunity.
For a given proposed change to an Operations procedure (PCR), determine validity of change, revise the procedure to accommodate the change. Evaluate existing PCRs in system to determine impact of change being made.
For a given Operations procedure change, determine the types of reviews needed to process the procedure, resolve comments, and coordinate the review and approval process.
For Fleet Jobs: Supports the ongoing operations of the sites and is jointly accountable with site personnel for the sites meeting their excellence plans. For Site Jobs: Supports the ongoing operations of the fleet and is jointly accountable with fleet personnel for the fleet meeting its excellence plan.
Minimum Requirements
High-school diploma or general education degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum five years of relevant experience; nuclear power plant experience preferred.
Knowledge of processes such as modification process, temporary modifications, quality assurance standards, operating policies, industry standards and administrative requirements within the commercial nuclear or a similarly regulated industry.
Must be familiar with 10 CFR 50.59/72.48 screening and evaluation process and be qualified (preferred), or are able to be qualified to perform a 10 CFR 50.59/72.48 screen.
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear power plant required.
Preferred Requirements
Senior Reactor Operator, Reactor Operator License or SRO Certification Qualification (preferred), or are able to be qualified.

Responsibilities:
● Report and write breaking news and enterprise stories on DC politics and government actions.
● Land interviews with power brokers in DC politics
● Cover legislative battles, policy shifts, elections, and key political figures.
● Break exclusive stories and find fresh angles on widely covered issues.
● Build and maintain a strong network of sources, from lawmakers and lobbyists to administration and campaign officials.
● Stay on top of political developments in real time and file timely, accurate copy.
● Use public records, FOIA requests, and social media to surface and verify stories.
● Work closely with editors and colleagues to produce fast, engaging coverage across digital and social platforms.
Requirements:
● Minimum five years of newsroom reporting experience, with a focus on DC or political coverage.
● Experience writing about the White House and Congress and building sources within the Trump administration
● Proven ability to break news, cultivate sources, and deliver original, high-impact reporting
● Strong editorial judgment and writing skills under tight deadlines.
● Experience using digital tools, FOIA, and open-source reporting techniques.
● On-camera experience and comfort presenting stories across platforms strongly preferred.
● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as news demands.
Note: This role will be expected to report into the Washington, DC bureau.
