NIT Warangal history
NIT Warangal company history timeline
In 1971, the college started the undergraduate program in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
It is run by students and includes various cultural performances including quiz events, treasure hunts and professional shows. It was established in 1978.
In 1994, the institute was selected by the Overseas Development Administration of the UK for exchange programs between the UK and India in the field of information technology.
In 2000, the institute started its MBA program.
The institute was renamed as the National Institute of Technology, Warangal in 2002.
Started in 2006, it has grown to become one of the major technical festivals of South India with a footfall of over 6000 students.
The MHRD, New Delhi constituted CCB-2009 with Director, NIT, Warangal as its Chairman and NIT, Warangal as its Headquarters.
NIT, Warangal has been selected as a “Leading Technology Adopter of the year 2009” (It is an award for excellence in Technology Adopter in the Education Sector)
10th Convocation was held on 15th Sept 2012, in which Doctor K. Radhakrishnan, Chairman ISRO & Secretary, Dept of Space, GoI, was the Chief Guest

15th Convocation of NIT Warangal was held November 11th, 2017
NIT Warangal was ranked 25 among engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2018 and 78 overall. It was ranked 15 among engineering colleges in India in 2017 by The Week.
16th convocation of NIT Warangal was held on August 18th, 2018
NIT Warangal was ranked 25 among engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2018 and 78 overall.
Since the inaugural tournament in 2018, Ayodhan has grown to sixteen main events along with various social initiatives, pre-Ayodhan events, showcases and informals.
