Responsibilities:
1. Clean and prepare Anesthesia locations for initial and follow up cases.a.Calibrate anesthesia machines as needed.b.Verify monitor functions to insure patient safetyc.Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the Bio-Medical Department and Anesthesia Director (AYS).d.Change soda lime canisters as indicated. Date and initial upon changing.2. Acquire equipment and supplies for the anesthesia department.a.Stock all anesthesia machines and cartsb.Receive and replenish perfusion suppliesc.Order supplies as needed with approval of the Anesthesia Director.3. Assess unit activity flow and assist others as needed.a.Sets up and assists in the operation of equipment in out-post anesthesia sites including but not limited to: Endoscopy, Radiology, ICU, PACU, and OB.b.Assists in transporting of patients to and from these out-lying areas.4. Clean anesthesia machine, carts and equipment.Clean laryngoscopes, LMAs, bronchoscopes, glidescope handles, glidescope stylets and flow sensors5. Assist in moving patients as needed.6. Responsible for utilizing hospital email for sending and retrieving communication to and from the department director and other hospital departments.7. Assists / prepares invasive monitoring equipment and disposables.Assists / prepares non-invasive monitoring equipment and disposables.8. Assists / prepares patient warming devices including heater / humidification set up, fluid warmers, etc.9. Assists / prepares cardiopulmonary perfusion set up.10. Assists / prepares and/or operates Autologous Transfusion Device (Cell Saver) with daily coverage as needed and provides weekend coverage for this device.11. Follows North Oaks Health System's Compliance Program and Federal and State Regulatory guidelines12. Assists in departmental inventory (expired supplies).

- Attends in-services, department, staff, or other required meetings
- Reviews facility-specific publications, memos, policies, and other job-related publications
• Performs skills competently and in accordance with Christus policies and procedures following initial competence validation
• Cross-trains and functions in transcription clerk and nurse aide roles
• Monitors ECG rhythms:
- Observes cardiac monitors
After receiving the report, watches cardiac monitors constantly and reports any dysrhythmia immediately to the appropriate nurse
Sets and maintains alarm rates as indicated by the physician and/or Charge Nurse
Assures that monitors are attended to at all times
Demonstrates proper knowledge of functioning machinery and supplies
• Assists with maintenance of computer environment, reports malfunctioning equipment, follows-up on repairs to allow no lapse in patient care

Description
Summary:
This professional will perform diagnostic testing involving Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), and Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) Tests using Evoked Potentials (EP) in various areas of the body. These EP studies provide diagnostic data of Brain, Spinal Cord, and Limb maladies and diseases. This professional will be able to work with others in an effort to achieve common goals, whether they involve patient care, departmental, and/or hospital-related; they should utilize communication and available resources to promote quality and cost-effective patient care. This professional will also perform EKGs and assist with the management of the MUSE EKG storage system.
Responsibilities:
Performs EKG's utilizing the GE MAC 5500 machine
Performs electrocardiograms for inpatient and outpatient populations including all ages
Performs Holter monitor hook-ups
Performs Cardiac event monitor hook-ups
Responsible for quarterly quality assurance for stat EKGs
Schedules all patients for any and all procedures performed in the department that requires an appointment
Refers outpatients to centralized scheduling
Performs assessments on patients of various ages prior to the diagnostic procedure in-patient and outpatient procedures
Maintains all diagnostic equipment by assuring that they are properly functioning and cleaned after every patient
Notifies physicians daily for exam interpretation and files reports
Checks weekly for needed supplies
Demonstrates competency to do assigned client care responsibilities in a way that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of persons served in the department
Appropriately adapts assigned client assessment, treatment and/ or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age specific and other developmental needs of each patient served

Status: Full Time Shift: Monday-Friday, 10:30am-7:00pm, with rotating call Exempt: No The primary function of this position is to provide technical assistance and coordination of the usage of equipment, supplies and instruments before during and after surgical procedures. The Perioperative Services Support Tech is trained to assist nursing staff with direct and indirect nursing care. The Unit Coordinator or Charge Nurse on duty assigns the Perioperative Services Support Tech specific responsibilities. The Perioperative Services Support Tech may be assigned to one specific task, or may rotate assignments during their shift. The Perioperative Services Support Tech will possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities:
1. Assists in the responsibility for the care, handling, storage and transporting of professional supplies and equipment. Is aware of the need for special handling of surgical equipment and supplies.
2. Assists in pulling supplies and equipment for scheduled surgical cases.
3. Adheres to the operating room standards on aseptic technique and infection control.
4. Adheres to the policy and procedures, which govern the operating room.
5. Operates the video camera and monitoring equipment during procedures requiring video.
6. Notifies the Bio-Med Tech and the OR Manager of equipment malfunctioning that cannot be corrected immediately.
7. Participates in unit meetings.
8. Assists OR personnel in the turnover of OR rooms, i.e. preparing equipment, supplies, housekeeping duties as needed and the acquisition of or dispersing of OR patients as needed.
9. Assists in maintaining and restocking OR supplies.
10. Assists OR personnel during procedures, i.e. positioning patients, moving patients as needed, assisting in obtaining supplies or equipment not in the room.
11. Assists in the collection of specimens, records specimens in logbook and transport specimens to pathology at specified times (9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM) In accordance with the universal precaution policy.
12. Organizes and maintains required OR related forms, i.e. charge sheets, pathology sheets, peri-operative record, etc.).
13. Assists with washing, decontamination and returning equipment to storage areas.
14. Dons gloves, gowns according to protocol for sterile tech.
15. Maintains sterile technique according to protocol.
16. Assists surgeon in retraction as directed by physician.
17. Assists with ambulation of surgery unit patients as indicated in treatment regimes.
18. Assists with wiping equipment with disinfectant before bringing equipment into OR rooms or hallways.
19. Assists in cleaning OR transport stretchers.
20. Assists in housekeeping functions to maintain cleanliness in the Operating room in order to ensure a safe patient environment.
