Appropriately assist clients with activities of daily living and personal care in accordance with the care plan including:
Assisting or performing personal care including: Baths (tub, shower, bed), Mouth care, denture care, skin care, foot care (no toenail cutting), Grooming (shampoo, comb hair, shave, file nails), Dressing and undressing activities.
Elimination (toilet, commode, urinal, bedpan).
Transfers.
Assisting with ambulation with or without mechanical aids.

Appropriately assist with household tasks directly related to the client's health and in accordance with the care plan:
Maintenance of a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
Planning and preparing meals according to specific dietary requirements of the client, and if necessary, feeding the client.
Light housekeeping of client's immediate environment.
Laundry of clients bedding and clothing.
Assistance in completing activities such as shopping/grocery, errands, and appointments outside of the home.
Providing companionship and stimulation for the client including reading, walks, etc.; and accompanying the client to doctors or other appointments.
Utilize equipment in an appropriate and safe manner.
Remind client for self-administration of medication.
Do Not Administer Medications. Medications include eye drops, ear drops, ointments, pills, suppositories, injections, herbal remedies, and over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol, Aspirin, vitamins, and minerals.
Accurately documents shift details and services accurately within established time parameters.
Ensures the safety of clients and self. Follows Universal Precautions and demonstrates safe hand washing techniques.
Observes the client's general physical, emotional, and mental status, and report all changes in the client's conditions, family situation, or incidents during shift immediately to agency coordinator, supervisor, and client's designated representative (as instructed by employer).
Maintain and improve skills through attendance with staff development programs and in-service education requirements.
Maintain Confidentiality in all professional areas and consider the needs of clients and their families, other employees, physicians, visitors, and all members of the community in an informative, courteous, and compassionate manner.
Ensure all HIPAA regulations are adhered to.
Follow all agency policies and procedures.

ADA Requirements:
Routinely required to sit, stand, and walk in variable surfaces, including occasional climbing of ramps or stairs or the use of foot controls.

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant's skills and experience. Role is also eligible for team based bonus opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company's 401(k) program.

Our Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant-STNA in Ohio) work with community management to provide seniors with personalized care, and give resident status updates at the beginning and end of each shift.
Nursing assistants check in with residents, assist with dining and personal care needs, and perform vital sign checks and clinical procedures according to community policy.
Provide assistance with activities of daily living (showers, bathroom assistance, dressing/grooming)
Successful completion of State CNA/STNA course is required. Must maintain certification.

Job Summary
* Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing personnel.
Essential Functions
* Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care
* Provides general nursing care such as positioning the patient, lifting, turning, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in the use of bed pan, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient and application of binder or anti embolic stockings, bed bath, oral/hair/back care, changing bed linens, cleaning over bed table, and bedside stand, straightening patient room and other general care necessary during the shift
* Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake and output measurements accurately. Documents in a timely manner.
* Prepares patient room and bed for admission and transfers and ensures all necessary equipment is in room
* Maintains an attractive and comfortable environment for patients with special consideration to cleanliness of room, ventilation, and lighting
* Assists in patient admission, transfer and discharge procedures. Assist with handling and care of patient belongings and other personal property
* Answers patient call lights, telephone, and paging system and responds as appropriate
* Able to release, remove and reapply restraints to patient under the direction of an RN
* Ensures patient is in proper position and alignment
* Assist RN and/or LVN/LPN with complicated patient treatment procedures
* Serves and removes patient meal tray in timely manner
* Assists with feeding and/or preparing items such as opening mild container, cutting food for patient
* Assists patients with range of motion exercises, and movement to wheelchair or activity areas
* Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards
* Documentation via electronic health record
* Attend interdisciplinary meetings as needed to provide input into selected patient's plans of care
* Documents restorative services provided following facility policies and procedures
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
* Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their family members, and facility staff
* Basic computer knowledge

Qualifications
Education

Under the supervision of the registered nurse, the NA will assist patients across the age continuum (4 weeks to geriatric) with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to patients and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
