The Role
The Radeon Power and Performance Group is looking for a versatile architect to lead the development of our unique bottleneck based performance model for gaming and compute GPUs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Plan and execute SI/PI validation for next-generation interconnects (PCIe Gen6/7, 224G Ethernet, optical/copper channels)
* Perform end-to-end measurements including eye diagram, jitter, insertion loss, and return loss using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and TDRs
* Develop comprehensive lab validation plans for connectors, cables, and PCB interconnects, ensuring compliance and reliability
* Collaborate with hardware, layout, and packaging teams to provide actionable design feedback and drive SI/PI improvements
* Partner with silicon, firmware, and platform validation teams to optimize overall system-level performance
* Investigate and evaluate future interconnect technologies including CPO/CPC and 400G+ solutions
* Debug and resolve board- and system-level SI/PI issues, performing detailed root cause analysis and recommending mitigations
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Strong background in high-speed SI/PI validation, characterization, or simulation
* Proficiency with measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, TDRs, BERTs)
* Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools such as Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS/SIwave, Mentor HyperLynx, or CST
* Understanding of transmission line theory, SerDes architectures, and channel modeling
* Experience with PCIe, Ethernet, or xGMI interconnect standards
* Exposure to optical transceiver validation, CPO/CPC, or Linear Drive Optics
* Scripting or automation experience (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW)
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
* M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred

THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for an AI solutions validation Engineer who is passionate about complex AI solutions, AI infrastructure, building cluster scale automation for distributed training and inference workloads, MLOps. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering, system design, validation, automation and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work with AMD's architecture specialists to validate AI solutions for distributed training and inference workloads with AMD's ROCM software
* Build cluster scale automation for distributed training and inference workloads
* Reproduce field defects and develop appropriate tests to prevent future issues.
* Design, develop and deploy testing tools and automation libraries necessary to perform testing.
* Lead the adoption of tooling and industry best practices by means of advocacy and outreach to help our development communities level up.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Languages: Python, Linux Shell scripting.
* Tools: Prior experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, SLURM, LLVM compilers
* Good experience with complex computer systems used in AI, HPC deployments, backend network designs in RDMA clusters
* Experience in validating complex AI infrastructure - GPUs, networking, ROCEv2, UEC, running benchmark tests like IBPerf benchmarking, RCCL/NCCL.
* Experience with performance profiling of CPUs, GPUs and debugging complex compute, network, storage problems.
* Experience with running training of LLMs, MoE models, Image Generation, recommendations models with different frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow, Megatron-LM, JAX. Running training performance benchmarks.
* Experience with running inference workloads in AI clusters with different inference frameworks like vLLM, SGLang. Running performance benchmarks for inference.
* Desired Skills: Understanding of High-Performance Computing application, Machine learning and GPU Programming, MPI Parallel Programming, Enabling various ML//Inference models
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field.

THE ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic SOC Validation Engineer to join our growing Systems Validation Integration and Platform (SVIP) team and show case your expertise in Silicon Validation! Our team plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of AMD's next-generation FPGA and SoC products. As an experienced validation engineer, you'll work alongside experienced team members to validate cutting-edge technology through hands-on pre-silicon and post-silicon testing, debugging, and characterization.
THE PERSON:

The candidate should possess excellent attention to detail and natural curiosity to investigate and understand complex system level interactions. You are organized and results-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks and delivering to deadlines. Your ability to influence without direct authority and advocate for rigorous validation practices is crucial for success in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Driving technical innovation to improve AMD's capabilities across SoC validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives.
* Own the creation of comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases based on product requirements and specifications. Manage and execute the overall test plan, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
* Systematically collect, analyze, and report failure data. Collaborate closely with the CFT teams to identify root causes, drive issue closure, and verify fixes.
* Ensure the test plan features are covered in both pre-silicon and post-silicon.
* Support post-silicon bring-up activities and system-level testing.
* Provide technical assistance in debugging critical issues, performing root cause analysis, and contributing to timely resolutions.
* Working with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time.
* Working closely with supporting technical teams
* Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks
* Leading collaborative approach with multiple teams

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Hands on experience in pre-silicon validation using FPGA-based prototyping and emulation platforms
* Hands on experience in post silicon validation using characterization boards, customer boards
* Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C, Perl, Python)
* Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategies for ARM and X86 architectures
* Experience with silicon and board bring up activities
* Coursework or projects involving FPGAs, embedded systems, or SoC design
* Experience with board/platform-level debug, protocol level debug is must. Knowledge of AXI, CHI protocols will be added advantage
* Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc
* Experience with multimedia IP's is an added advantage
