Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional is accredited by and received the Gold Seal of approval from The Joint Commission. #LI-CU1 Short Description - Performs all duties associated with sterile compounding. - Maintains competency on ROBOT RX software and hardware. - Accurately performs cart fill, accurately prepares manual picks for dispensing. - Maintains competency on OMNICELL software and hardware and Secure Vault software. - Accurately prepares medications for dispensing to OMNICELL cabinets, accurately restocks OMNICELL cabinets. - Maintains competency on Exitcare software. - Performs other operational duties such as preparing code cart trays for final check by a pharmacist, preparing unit dose medications for final check by a pharmacist, maintaining competency in the Medi-Tech pharmacy Module, delivering medications to patient care areas, and assisting in the minimization of missing medications. - Assists in all areas of pharmacy department as department workload necessitates. - Performs inventory management by collaborating with pharmacists and supervisors to create a daily order, transmits daily order to wholesaler and other suppliers, unpacks all drug deliveries and processes invoices. - Performs all work in accordance with all policies, procedures, and standards of the Department of Pharmacy Services. - Performs other duties as required and assigned by the Director. Experience Required Experience with Windows-based programs. Education Requirements High school graduate or equivalent required. Some college science courses are preferred. License/Certification Requirements Must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the NJ State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. Must be a certified technician or become certified within 90-days of employment. ( PTCB or other certification body recognized by the NJ State Board of Pharmacy).

Responsible for preparing and delivering all sterile admixture products for adult and pediatric inpatient areas at the Medical Center under the supervision of pharmacist. Contents are subject to change at the company's discretion. **Education** Required - High School Diploma or equivalent **Work Experience** Required - 6 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician **Certifications** Required - Current Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Board of Pharmacy in the state of practice ASHP Sterile Product Preparation Certificate within 90 days of hire ***5 years of IV Production experience will be accepted in lieu of Sterile Product Preparation Certificate, but must obtain Sterile Product Preparation Certificate within 90 days of hire** **Knowledge Skills and Abilities** + Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. + Must have working knowledge of pharmaceutical mathematics. + Must have working knowledge of sterile technique and demonstrate aseptic technique proficiency. + Must have working knowledge of safety guidelines for handling chemotherapy. + Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. + Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard. + Skills to operate standard pharmacy and office equipment. + Strong interpersonal skills. **Job Duties** + Assists pharmacists and other technicians to maintain an efficient medication distribution system in order to provide safe and efficient patient care. + Accurately prepares sterile admixture products, such as intravenous snap-ons, large volume parenterals, syringes, chemotherapy, & bulk manufactured products using techniques utilizing aseptic techniques and proper pharmaceutical procedures (>400/shift OR 100% of shift dedicated to preparation of sterile products and chemotherapy). + Accurately prepares sterile admixture products using mathematical calculations. + Appropriately operates and maintains specialized pharmacy equipment (IV safety software, barcode software). + Charts all scheduled maintenance designed to ensure sterility according to protocol. + Performs daily, weekly, monthly, and terminal cleaning of the IV room. + Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. + Other related duties as required.
