Summary: Responsible for the planning, provision, and coordination of all aspects of direct patient care in accordance with established clinic and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality care in a safe environment. The staff therapist, using independent judgment, assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of physical therapy services provided by Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehab Techs/Aides. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides high quality patient care and assessment in accordance with established practice standards and clinic/departmental policies in a safe environment. Performs patient evaluation, summarizes objective clinical findings, and develops an accurate individualized plan of care. Ensures that goals are feasible, based upon findings and patient expectations. Provides treatment in accordance with physician's orders and established plan of care. Evaluates effectiveness of treatment plan and revises plan of care as indicated. Communicates/collaborates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other and other members of the healthcare team to promote maximum benefit of care. Communicates/collaborates with the patient's referral source such as the physician, NCM, ADJ, etc. regarding the patient's care and progress to promote maximum benefit of care. Assess educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and other members of healthcare team to promote maximum benefit of care. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and correct application of clinical techniques, procedures and programs for clinical setting and patient/client populations served. Plans and makes appropriate discharge plans. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved security and safety standards. Utilizes appropriate leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff. Participates in and contributes to quality improvement process. Makes effective use of patient schedule and time by achieving various efficiency standards such as skilled units per visit, visits per day, and evaluations plus two-skilled units. Completes timely, competent, and compliant documentation using AgileRPM. Travels to other local clinics as assigned.     JOB SUMMARY: The Master's-level Mental Health Student Interns (Student Intern) at BestCare will be provided with supervision and oversight so they can develop the knowledge and skills for a profession in behavioral health. The Internship Program is designed to serve as a bridge between the knowledge they gain in completing required coursework and applying that knowledge to clinical client services. It is expected that student intern will maintain ethical standards and follow all BestCare's policies as well as State and Federal regulations throughout the program to guide their development into professional clinicians. The following represents the primary opportunities and responsibilities that a Student Intern may expect during the internship. ESSENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Student Intern can expect to work in a diverse, clinical setting with clients that are experiencing a variety of hardships. At the beginning of the internship, the Student Intern will receive and complete required/assigned training as well as a site-specific orientation. A qualified, designated Clinical Supervisor will serve as a resource and will be responsible to timely provide all necessary documentation and coordination with the affiliated university. The Clinical Supervisor will meet all requirements under OAR 309-019-0125. The Student Intern, with the Clinical Supervisor, develops goals for the internship (Student Scope of Practice and Education Agreement), identifying areas of particular interest to the intern, as well as goals related to the competencies of the profession. These goals will be reviewed and updated throughout the internship at least every 3 months to evaluate progress towards goals, identification of deficiencies, and development of a plan to address any deficiencies. The Student Intern will participate in a variety of shadowing opportunities with the entire outpatient team, including other program offerings to learn the entire array of services provided based on the program site, which may include case management, psychiatric management, providing therapy, medication-supported recovery, MOMs program, and substance use/mental health counseling and therapy. After completing the shadowing opportunities and being approved by the Clinical Supervisor, the Student Intern will begin practicing therapy/case management on their own for a small caseload, under continuing supervision. The Student Intern will be provided the designated weekly supervision, as well as individually and in group settings with the clinical team. The Mental Health Associate/Intern will provide on-site mental health services to formerly homeless children and their families living in permanent supportive housing in Pleasant Hill. The position can be part or full-time depending on your needs. Individual supervision, group supervision and training are all provided. Associates provide services in an on-site play therapy room, in family homes and in the community. Some evening and occasional weekend hours will be required.
