This position ensures proper grading and inspection of all boards in compliance with NeLMA standards and KLC guidelines. Responsibilities: Understand all NeLMA grading rules per the handbook for each species of wood that is processed at KLC. Ensure that you grade each board appropriately before it is sorted. Place the appropriate width mark on boards as it passes the grading station, using a ruler for accuracy. Inspect lumber as part of the grading process for planer defects, coloring, kiln defects and other grading discrepancies. Ensure that the stacking line is properly sorting the boards per the grading mark. Follow all change over and end of day procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.
