This is an education stipend opportunity. Upon completion of OSF School of Histotechnology's program, education stipend recipients will enter as a Histology Technician/Histology Technologist, at OSF HealthCare.
The Education Stipend will be issued as a one-time payment of $4,200 and will be considered taxable income.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for preparing and staining tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a Pathologist. In doing so, performs high complexity and/or non-routine histology procedures requiring independent technical assessment of assay performance. Position is responsible for technical operation of specialized histological assays including training, education and continued quality improvement of the high complexity procedures. Position will lead and direct the optimization and validation of new laboratory equipment in accordance with applicable regulatory accrediting agencies. Position will assist with the technical oversight and directing of routine histology procedures in order to ensure high quality, diagnostic throughput. Additionally, positon will be required to participate in the onsite NACCLS accredited School of Histology by ways of lecturing, providing educational resources or directing student clinical training. Position requires attention to detail, technical expertise of the chemical rationale of the assays performed and the analytic skills required to remedy any technical difficulties encountered with high complexity histology assays.

The Customer Support Imaging Field Education Specialist delivers on the Antech Customer Service Vision of unwavering commitment to empathetic and caring veterinary diagnostic support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Schedule applications training process with customer

Deliver comprehensive applications training for ultrasound products offered by Antech.
Drive communication with other Field Education Specialists, Coordinators, and Sales Team pre and post training
Connect ultrasound equipment to customers PACS, AIS and Telemedicine services when needed
Customize ultrasound products to suit customer needs (presets, annotations, measurements)
Instruct on ultrasound physics and scanning techniques (measurements, probe handling, scanning planes, image orientation)
Perform diagnostic echocardiograms on companion animals (primarily dogs and cats; equine as applicable) in accordance with accepted veterinary cardiology standards
Acquire high-quality 2D, M-mode, Color Flow, PW and CW Doppler images of cardiac structures and blood flow
Accurately obtain and document cardiac measurements (e.g., chamber dimensions, wall thickness, fractional shortening, Doppler velocities)
Optimize ultrasound system settings for cardiac imaging, including gain, depth, focus, sector width, and Doppler parameters
Identify and recognize common cardiac abnormalities, including valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, congenital defects, pericardial effusion, and arrhythmia-related findings
Prepare preliminary image sets and measurements for veterinary cardiologist or attending veterinarian review (as permitted by scope of practice)
Ensure proper patient handling, positioning, and restraint, prioritizing animal comfort and safety during exams

Job Purpose/Overview

Designs and executes the student on-boarding curricula, training, and maintains student files per institutional policy. Echo Clinical Educator:
Develop and teach curriculum for pediatric cardiac echo program at local institution. This includes didactic and hands-on scanning techniques.
Primary educator for all tele-echo partner hospitals. This includes on-site training, QI meetings, on-boarding competencies for new hires, and educational lectures.
Provides support as needed for national and international hosted Lurie echo conferences including Sonographer Update, Echo 3D Academy, and Fetal Symposium.
Reviews and provides feedback regarding study quality from a QI perspective and supports the manager with IAC re-accreditation.
Provides hands-on training of new hires and students as needed based on skill level and clinic needs of the lab
Provides clinical support as needed.
CP Lab Clinical Educator:
Collaborate with Medical Director to create staff and Fellow educational series, research opportunities, and programmatic growth opportunities in Exercise, PFT and ECG
Participate in national organizations in order to stay ahead of changes in the field and provide growth opportunities for staff
Maintain NIOSH certification as the program director for the NIOSH conference and provide support as needed for conference portfolio growth in CP Labs.
Establish and maintain QI platform in collaboration with Medical Directors, Manager, and Leads
Collaborate with manager to develop process improvement plans through QI initiatives, including but not limited to simulator and mock code training.
Primary trainer/educator for outreach ECG services and Holter monitor inventory - will require travel to outreach sites
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in related field or education required, Master's preferred.
Current registry with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (Echo Clinical Educator).
Current registry with ACSM or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (CP Lab Clinical Educator).
Current CPR certification.
Minimum three years clinical experience in a hospital setting. Previous experience working with students in a pediatric clinical setting is preferred.

Customer Engagement on Off-Label or SIUU (Scientific Information on Unapproved Use) Topics:
Respond to unsolicited inquiries regarding off-label use with balanced, evidence-based information.
Guide healthcare providers toward peer-reviewed studies, medical literature, or ongoing research to support understanding of off-label applications.
Travel for onsite support of off-label use and SIUU training (up to 70%).
Avoid proactively promoting off-label or investigational use, adhering strictly to company and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications
Education: Clinical or scientific degree in health sciences (e.g., RN, APN, PA).

Preferred Experience
3-5 years in a clinical educator, or similar role, particularly in a regulated environment such as diagnostics, biomedical devices and/or experience supporting cardiac monitoring IDTFs (Clinical and/or Commercial support).
