As part of investing in the development of its future employees, Hussmann is offering a partnership with Ranken Technical College. This program provides tuition reimbursement to Ranken students to acquire skills and knowledge that enhance performance with the purpose of long-term employment with Hussmann.
The Ranken Lab Technician Intern will assist with set up and performance testing of Hussmann products to develop knowledge of Hussmann's offerings in Refrigeration Systems, Merchandisers, and associated products and systems. The Ranken Lab Technician Intern will also assist full time Lab Technicians with floor testing, reliability testing, compliance testing, and other duties as assigned by the Lab Manager.
Responsibilities
* Assist with testing requiring conventional types of procedures and/or applicable industry standards.
* Assist on set up Hussmann merchandisers for testing. This includes the installation of all refrigeration, electrical and data acquisition instrumentation connections.
* Work within the R&D Lab team and assist other technicians as needed. Ability to work well with others and transfer learning to the group effectively is critical
* Assist and conduct floor testing (structural, sound, transit, etc.) as assigned by Lab Manager.
* Follow safety protocols in place in the company.
* Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, and skills necessary to learn the Hussmann data acquisition system and supporting programs for the presentation of lab data.
Qualifications
* The Ranken Lab Technician Intern must attain a satisfactory grade and performance level to qualify for continued scholarship and internship.
* 2.50 grade point average required during the class rotation.
* Performance levels require a "3" (meets expectations) rating during the internship rotation.
* If the Ranken Lab Technician Intern fails to meet the grade or performance expectations, Hussmann will not continue tuition reimbursement or internship opportunities. Failure to meet the required expectations could result in termination of the program agreement.
* The Ranken Lab Technician Intern must obtain evidence of satisfactory/ passing grades in the form of official documentation such as an official transcript or letter from the educational institution.
* The Ranken Lab Technician Intern must obtain a company performance review prepared by their supervisor.
* Active enrollment in Ranken Technical College HVAC/R program in good academic standing, working toward a certificate or associate degree
* Developing skills in use and operation of tools of the HVAC and refrigeration trade (brazing, electrical, etc.)
* EPA certification (universal) for refrigerant handling preferred

The Role:
The Riverboat Technician (RBT) is responsible for maintenance of the riverboat in compliance with all applicable regulatory agency regulations year-round, completing quarterly inspections and having the riverboat fully ready for ABS Consulting, Inc.'s annual and semi-annual inspections.
Responsibilities:
Successfully completes Riverboat Technician Qualification Program.
Successfully completes an accredited course in basic firefighting. This requirement can be met by completing either (a) USCG-approved course or (b) training by the Shreveport Fire Department.
Successfully completes CPR, First Responder, and Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED) certification.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Must have valid driver's license.
Must be 21 years of age.

Identifies and notifies management of any pricing irregularities in the system
Customer Service & Sales:
Ensures customers are provided with the highest levels of customer service.
Greets all customers and assists in answering questions about merchandise and locating merchandising; uses The S.A.L.E.S. process to help customers find everything on their lists.
Completes all company and departmental paperwork accurately, including Price Change Bulletins, Operation Actions, Red Tags, and Bin Tags.
Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking paperwork against items received when required, and replenishes stock when necessary.
Displays and maintains merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters or tables following company plan-o-gram, building displays when necessary to attract customers and promote sales within specified guidelines by your management team.
Maintains on-hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports including; cycle count, negative on-hand.
Follows the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness.
Maintains familiarity with new products and ad merchandise.
Has sound awareness of surroundings, customers, etc. and practices loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses.
Working knowledge of the tools available to operate the store; including, but not limited to: RF Gun, Back Office Procedures and the use of Store Opportunities.
Follows GLA policies and procedures for all transactions. Engages the customer to ensure they are receiving all the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member and actively seeking participation from them.
Must be able to communicate effectively, and work with colleagues and customers effectively and professionally.

Assists with color matching and mixing paint

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:
· Responsible for assisting farming crops and maintaining greenhouses. Assists the Farm Manager with the maintenance of the research farm.
· Responsible for recording seasonal data relating to crop maps, fertilizer, irrigation, and overall growing season performance for each crop.
· Responsible for irrigation management including that the irrigation systems are maintained and operated correctly.

Job Description:
Job Purpose
The Lab Processor performs pre-analytical tasks and assists technical staff by collecting, accessioning, and processing lab specimens prior to analysis.
Essential Job Functions
Technical:
Successfully perform all pre-analytic phases of laboratory testing
Working knowledge of electronic medical record and laboratory information systems
Perform specimen accessioning, including verifying proper sample labeling and specimen collection requirements.
Perform specimen processing, including centrifugation, distribution, archival, and storage.
Know specimen acceptability and rejection criteria for testing and troubleshoot problems relating to specimen analysis.
Accession addon and reference lab testing and process/distribute specimens appropriately.
Inventory and receive supplies according to lab protocol.
QA/QC/Regulatory:
Participate in continuous improvement activities, examine existing processes/procedures, and look for ways to improve them.
Complete necessary documentation when specimen variance or adverse events occur.
Perform competency testing as required.
Adhere to all regulatory standards within the clinical laboratory.
Safety/Organizational/Productivity:
Follow institution's safety procedures.
Follow Universal Precautions, wear PPE.
Acts independently and accepts responsibility of the clinical laboratory's policy and procedures.
Communication/Teamwork:
Must be able to interact well with patients, employees, physicians, and management.
Answer questions from patients, physicians, and nursing staff regarding clinical laboratory.
Qualifications
Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Must have excellent organizational skills to prioritize and manage tasks in a timely and effective manner.
Must be willing to adapt to a flexible schedule and work environment.
Act independently and accept responsibility for actions and performance.
Complete competency assessments and 12 hours of continuing education annually.
Education/Experience
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Must have (2) years' experience in the clinical laboratory setting.
Must have basic computer skills.
Working Conditions
This position works in the Clinical Laboratory of a busy outpatient oncology/hematology clinic. This position requires that the employee collaborate closely with coworkers and management and handle bodily fluids and chemicals daily.
Physical Requirements
This position requires that the employee be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to eight hours a day. This position also requires that the employee be able to perform mild physical labor to complete the tasks at hand.
