By the end of 1918, the company had grown to 20 employees.
Matsushita identified potential for electric motors to be incorporated into new types of appliances, and Panasonic produced its first electric motor in 1934.
As the company began establishing businesses around its various products, it incorporated as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. in 1935.
Konosuke Matsushita retired in 1961, and his son-in-law, Masaharu Matsushita, became president.
In 2008, the company finally changed its name from Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. to Panasonic Corporation -- Panasonic had been one of its many brands.
2014 Panasonic Healthcare Holdings Co., Ltd. established following carve-out from Panasonic Group
