In this entry-level position, the Propane Service Apprentice will learn from experienced technicians all of the functions, tasks, and skills necessary to progress to a Service Technician. In addition, the Apprentice will learn all aspects and processes involved with the efficient, safe, and successful delivery of offered services to new and current residential and commercial customers. Key responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to: The employee will attend introductory training sessions at this level, including Hazmat OSHA and Basic CETP Principals Work alongside technicians in the field, assisting with equipment service, piping installations, and heating and cooling equipment installs Learn how to perform safety checks, leak and pressure tests, and appliance servicing Installation, maintenance, and service of oil/natural gas/propane/electric appliances Operating a crane and dolly to maneuver tanks Inspecting and repairing equipment at customer sites Performing duties safely and efficiently, conforming to federal, state, and local guidelines and codes Additional responsibilities include warehouse/inventory support as needed The ability to lift or move objects of heavyweight.
