ROTATION SCHEDULE
Rotating 24 hour shift activities divided between fire station and field operations.

Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center
Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms
Complete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly
Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping
Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected
In partnership with center leadership, assist with patient flow and volume
Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit
Cross trained to perform Front Office duties including greeting patients, obtaining authorization, check in/out, communicating wait times, answering multi-line telephone system, distributing employer results/paperwork, etc.
Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules

What You'll Do
As an EMT (Physician Substitute), you will be a key member of the site's lean team, responsible for donor health and safety and a critical part of the donor experience. You'll work collaboratively with center staff to create a positive environment for the team and our donors. Key Responsibilities
Monitor donor eligibility and safety; perform health screenings and physical exams

Required Qualifications

Position Summary
The Rely Center Triage Paramedic will provide medical triage, assessment, and monitoring services within the Rely Center, "A Safe Place for Help" which includes a Psychiatric Urgent Care for all ages and an adult 23 hour stabilization unit. This includes medical triage and assessment, ongoing monitoring of clinical status, administering medications and more. In addition, the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team (particularly with providers and licensed therapists) is a must. This is a full-time position, with potential schedule adjustment/options in the future. Must have reliable transportation to travel to other sites for coverage, trainings and/or meetings.

About the role:

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
* You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
* You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
* You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
* You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Position Summary
The Rely Center Triage Paramedic will provide medical triage, assessment, and monitoring services within the Rely Center, "A Safe Place for Help" which includes a Psychiatric Urgent Care for all ages and an adult 23 hour stabilization unit. The Rely Center team is for individuals who have a passion for and are comfortable working in fast-paced environments, assisting individuals in mental health and/or substance use crises, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
This position requires a high level of knowledge of providing urgent care level integrated care for people with substance use or mental health needs. This includes medical triage and assessment, ongoing monitoring of clinical status, administering medications and more. In addition, the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team (particularly with providers and licensed therapists) is a must. This is a full-time position, with potential schedule adjustment/options in the future. Must have reliable transportation to travel to other sites for coverage, trainings and/or meetings.
Conduct medical assessments, medication reviews, mini-mental status exams
Triage: Prioritizing and assessing the urgency of patient conditions, including identifying when a patient's medical symptoms require a higher level of care
Monitoring: Ongoing observation of a patient's clinical status
Medication administration: as ordered by provider and monitoring for adverse reactions or side effects
Provide medication skills training and psychoeducational services for clients
Coordinate with patients and colleagues to assess and identify goals for a person-centered treatment plan
In conjunction with the crisis team, inform and support referrals to the next step in care, particularly from a medical perspective.
Education/Experience/Licensure
Completion of an accredited paramedic program and successful completion of paramedic certification exam.
One (1) year experience in a mental health/psychiatric setting highly preferred
Must hold an active Indianaparamedic license in good standing
