Parma School District company history timeline

1816

The area’s first white settlers were the Benajah Fay family from New York State, who settled along the Cleveland-Columbus Rd. (now Pearl Rd.) in 1816.

1911

In 1911, following a dispute over Sunday alcohol sales, a portion of the township seceded to form the village of Parma Hts.

1990

The idea for the C/B/S Partnership originated in 1990 as a logical outgrowth of the Ohio Department of Education’s School Business Partnership.

1991

In 1991, the Parma City School District’s building principals were asked if partnerships with businesses and/or community organizations would benefit the students.

1995

In 1995, the C/B/S Partnership became closely tied to Ohio’s BEST Practices – an initiative that identifies and promotes exemplary grass-roots education programs.

2010

In 2010 Parma was the seventh largest city in the state of Ohio and the second largest city in Cuyahoga County after Cleveland.
