RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assist residents in maintaining their total wellbeing by following the established Plan of Care, providing assistance with activities of daily living, social activities, dietary assistance, and Viva Senior Living's philosophies.
Supervise and care for residents on daily basis according to residents' needs
Aid with activities of daily living

Observe, supervise, and record resident self-administration of prescribed medications
Report refusals and/or reactions to supervisor on duty

Report and record observations of changes in residents' condition to director or supervisor in the daily logbook. Transfer relevant information to the next shift through the shift-to-shift verbal report
Implement personal care plans for each resident
Be patient and understanding in communicating with staff, residents, and visitors. Speak slowly and clearly. Refer families to director or supervisor regarding status of residents when unsure of status
Provide assistance in dining room as needed
Administer medication as directed by supervisor
Answer emergency calls promptly and courteously, complete required paperwork afterward
Retrieve soiled linen and personal clothing from resident living areas. Sort and pre-soak linens as required before processing through washing machines
Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of a resident's room. Empty waste baskets, wipe up spills, wash dishes, put away clothes, check refrigerator for spoiled food, and make beds, change linens
Check for unsecured throw rugs and extension cords
Observe condition of room/apartment and report anything in need of repair to maintenance
Document clearly and objectively on residents in logbook and on other documents
Participate in in-service educational programs as required by the community and state
Perform other duties as required
