About the Role:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides essential support to clinical staff by ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders. The BHT is responsible for monitoring patient activities, facilitating recovery-based education and group sessions, assisting with daily routines, and ensuring compliance with facility policies and safety standards. This role is crucial in fostering a positive and recovery-focused atmosphere for patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.
Experience working in a mental health or behavioral health setting.
Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and ability to maintain accurate records.
Basic understanding of crisis intervention techniques and mental health assessments.
Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing serious emotional disturbances (SED).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Behavioral Health Technician or equivalent credential.
Training in trauma-informed care and de-escalation strategies.
Experience with discharge planning and care coordination.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Additional coursework or certification in mental health or social services.
Responsibilities:
Patient Supervision and Support.
Assist in patientcare, including conducting luggage and body searches as part of intake procedures.
Monitor and document patient behavior, ensuring adherence to the facility's policies and schedules.
Conduct regular patient check-ins, offering support and encouragement in their recovery journey.
Supervise and facilitate patient activities, ensuring engagement in treatment related programs and interventions.
Monitor patients for signs of distress, behavioral concerns, or relapse triggers, and report findings to clinical staff.
Group Facilitation and Patient Engagement.
Lead and facilitate book studies, recovery meetings, and educational sessions on addiction and coping skills.
Assist in non-clinical group activities that reinforce positive behavior and promote wellness.
Encourage patient participation in group discussions and structured recreational activities.
Skills:
The Behavioral Health Technician utilizes clinical documentation skills daily to ensure all client interactions and interventions are accurately recorded, supporting continuity of care and compliance. Crisis management and intervention skills are essential for responding promptly and effectively to behavioral emergencies, ensuring safety for clients and staff. Clinical assessment abilities allow the technician to monitor client progress and identify changes in mental health status, informing treatment adjustments. Knowledge of mental health conditions and serious emotional disturbances (SED) guides the technician in providing empathetic and appropriate support tailored to each client's needs. Maintaining documentation and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams are critical for coordinating discharge plans and facilitating smooth transitions in care.
Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, observations, and participation in treatment programs.
Ensure proper documentation of incidents, behavioral concerns, and patient progress reports.
Support counselors and nursing staff with documentation as needed.
Drive patients to and from medical appointments, recovery meetings, and other authorized outings.
Assist with facility maintenance and ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and therapeutic.
Maintain clear communication with clinical and administrative teams regarding patient needs and activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
One year of experience in addiction treatment, behavioral health, or a related field preferred.
F Endorsement and Valid Driver's License Required.

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for the daily activities and operations inside the Operating Room when handling sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment while also maintaining a sterile field following professional standards during operating procedures. Assures that cleaning activities are ongoing, thereby consistently maintaining instrumentation needed for caseload.
Cleans and maintains operating rooms before and after surgical procedures. Maintains cleaning solutions and cleaning equipment.
Troubleshoot problems related to equipment, supplies, and service. Takes appropriate corrective action and informs manager when needed.
Exercise caution when using chemicals/cleaning fluids that are toxic or caustic.
Assures that solid/infectious waste is collected and delivered to the collection area in a timely manner.
Assists the OR team in lifting, positioning, transferring, and caring for the sedated/anesthetized patients in the O.R. and PACU.
Assists in monitoring patients for positioning safety-related issues under the guidance of the RN and notifies the RN of safety issues. Follows accepted recommended guidelines for moving, positioning, and holding limbs of patients.
Actively participates in the time-out process.
Transports requested items such as sterile and non-sterile supplies, SPD items, charts, records, and equipment between departments and surgical units in a timely manner.
Monitors operative schedule to ensure required supplies and implants are available.
Maintains principles of aseptic technique. Notifies team members when breaks in technique, occur and takes appropriate measures to correct breaks in technique.
Responsible for point-of-use cleaning for all surgical instruments, and break-down of surgical instruments and equipment before transporting them to the Sterile Processing Room.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 2) Any person who furnishes proof of completion of a surgical technology program that was in the process of becoming CAAHEP-accredited on July 1, 2006; or
3) Any surgical technologist who began a surgical technology program prior to May 21, 2007, and completed such training by May 21, 2010; 1 year of surgical experience required. Basic knowledge of surgical technique, including surgical care preparation and Operating Room sterile field set-up and break down, is required. Knowledge of methods and procedures for contamination control. Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies preferred.
Condition of employment:
All Surgical Technologists must complete fifteen (15) hours of continuing education or contact hours annually to remain qualified for employment and are required to submit verification of completion to the Nurse Educator each year.

This position documents the eye exam as dictated by the doctor, and documents patient follow-up treatment plans while providing exceptional level of patientcare. The position facilitates patient flow and time management by effective communication with the Physician, Management, and entire team across the continuum of care. Must be flexible with hours and locations.
Essential Skills/Responsibilities:
Reviews pre and post clinic medical charts for correct documentation, referral, correspondence, and pre-exam room testing requirements.
Develops a working knowledge of referring optometrists and physicians.
Documents charts during medical exam, including thorough knowledge and mastery of the EHR.
Ensures efficient patient flow and patientcare is carried out in the manner specified by their doctor and practice policy. Ensures all assigned Technicians are aware of the Doctor's requirements for patient screening, examination, and charting.
