As an In-Home Installation and Health Technician, you'll be responsible for the delivery, installation, integration and troubleshooting for basic, complex, and advanced consumer electronics products such as home theater, computing, smart home, health technology and networking. This role also requires technical expertise in health device installation and support including all appropriate HIPAA and health-related requirements. Outside of delivery and installation, you'll find the right solutions for customers' lifestyles and technology needs based on interactions within the home. This role requires partnership and indirect leadership with other Agents, service partners, retail employees, and supply chain employees. Internally, we refer to this role as a Consumer Electronic Double Agent.
What you'll do
* Provide a seamless customer experience by advising and fulfilling lifestyle recommendations regarding products, services and content
* Provide a variety of fulfillment duties including delivery, installation, integration, networking, and troubleshooting consumer electronics devices
* Maintain phone and in-person contact with customers to reveal diagnostic discoveries and make recommendations
* Provide support to in-store agents, car electronic installation and repair agents
* Take the lead on two-person jobs and perform other work alone
* Manage inventory and vehicle maintenance, process paperwork and payment, provide feedback and training opportunities, and follow safety guidelines
Basic qualifications
* Must be at least 21 years old
* Current, valid driver's license
* Have and maintain a driving record which meets Best Buy safety standards
* Ability to acquire and maintain any state or local licensing, as required to perform job effectively within 90 days of hire
* Ability to acquire any health-related certifications (e.g., HIPAA), as required to perform the job effectively within 90 days of hire

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Determine the extent of illness or injury by performing patient assessment, recognize and interpret vital signs and other symptoms, report findings to an authorized Emergency Department/Trauma Center Registered Nurse and/or physician, and request orders for appropriate treatment protocol.
Administer basic trauma and cardiac life support procedures to the sick and injured at the scene and en route to a hospital.
Maintains basic clinical skills as required by defined Scope of Practice and / or departmental / organizational protocols and standards.
Establishes radio communication with hospital Emergency Department/Trauma Center receiving the patient to advise them of the situation.
Assists in extrication of victims from damaged motor vehicles and hostile environments.
Record and enter patient data and other information on appropriate forms and logs.
Perform duties as assigned in daily operation of quarters, involving patients, vehicles, department and equipment, following policies, procedures, and operating instructions.
Report activities to the Shift Manager including unusual occurrences and complaints from patients, families, physicians, or employees.
Assist with patientcare duties in the Emergency Room/Trauma Center as requested or required for further training.
Attends all required department education meetings.
Participate in the clinical education of EMS students as needed.
Contribute to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department and hospital, perform related responsibilities as required or directed and greet guest in accordance to our Guest Excellence principles.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Completion of a certification course of study to allow applicant to sit for EMT certification exam for the State of Tennessee.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Provides and directs fast, efficient Advanced Life Support to the ill and injured utilizing all basic and advanced abilities and techniques, including but not limited to the placement of peripheral andintra-osseous lines, supra-glottic airways, endotracheal intubations, fluid and drug therapy, and AED use including defibrillation;
Recognizes and understands a medical emergency and makes reasonable and acceptable differentialdiagnosis;
Performs critical physical examinations;
Understands and anticipates the pharmacological treatment of critically ill and injured patients;
Understands and anticipates potentially life-threatening presentation of non-cardiac emergencies and institutes appropriate emergency therapy where essential for the preservation of life;

Responsible for managing and directing all first responders at the scene of a medical emergency such as EM R's, Police Departments, and EMT's;

Transports the ill and injured to institutions of medical care;
Operates emergency vehicles in a safe manner under all conditions;
Cleans and maintains equipment;
Properly completes patient statistics and medical information forms for administrative use;
Performs technical rescues in removing victims from varied terrain and circumstances; and,
Follows standard operating policies and procedures as developed and directed by the Company.

Cleans and maintains living quarters;

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The supervisor makes assignments in terms of shifts to be worked and the general scope of the work assignment. The incumbent performs the work in accordance with the procedures, policies and medical orders provided. The incumbent must exercise judgment in applying the proper guideline to the proper situation. The work is spot checked and evaluated on the basis of feedback from the patient, medical staff and others.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
The work requires the incumbent to operate emergency medical vehicles, move medical equipment and extract injured persons from a wide variety of situations. Situation can involve vehicular, industrial and residential accidents, injuries or illness and occur anywhere in our coverage area. At times the work requires movement over various types of terrain, (hilly, steep, rocky, rough, and/or wet/slippery surfaces). The incumbent at all times must be able to carry or help carry someone from the site of the injury to the mode of transportation (vehicle/helicopter) and attend the injured party to the hospital. In order to perform a physical assessment of the injured party, the incumbent must see, hear, and communicate with the injured party.
Incumbents will be issued and must wear Company issued uniforms while on duty; additionally, incumbents will be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of uniforms, as well as all issued equipment.
Incumbents are required to carry a company issued pager/radio at all times in order to receive immediate notification of an assignment.
