The PatientCareTechnician (PCT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated tasks in alignment with the PCT's training and the department's needs. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the PCT supports patientcare by assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe and organized care environment, and ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team.
Essential Functions
Assists nursing staff in delivering care, performing delegated basic patientcare services, and ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized environment.
Collects and records patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, oxygen saturation, intake/output, and calorie counts, reporting findings to the RN.
Supports patients with meals, feeding, bathing, oral care, grooming, linen changes, skin care, elimination assistance, and urinary catheter care.
Assists with patient positioning, repositioning, dangling, ambulating, and using mobility aids such as walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
Collects urine and stool samples and performs blood glucose monitoring via finger sticks, documenting and reporting results to the RN.
Communicates patient information effectively to the care team, adapts to change, and maintains professionalism in all interactions.
Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control and safety protocols, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Enhances the patient experience by engaging in evidence-based best practices, including safety rounding and using AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You).
Participates in performance improvement initiatives, risk management reporting, and compliance with National Patient Safety Goals and Core Measures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The sitter will accompany the patient for any test or procedures off the unit. The sitter will accompany surgical patients to the Holding Area.
The sitter will remain within arm's length of the patient until relieved by the RN.
Sitters will attempt to prevent the patient from pulling out lines/tubes.
Sitters will attempt to prevent the patient from getting out of bed if there is an activity level of bed rest ordered.
Sitter may assist patient to the bathroom if activity level permits and RN approves.
Bathroom door will remain open and sitter will have direct view of patient at all times.
At the discretion of the nurse, the sitter may assist with ambulation and feeding.
The sitter should assist the patient with obtaining fluids, consuming meals, wiping their face, etc.
Sitters may read to the patient, play a board game or cards, turn on the television and engage on general conversation.
Patient requests for assistance are referred to the nursing staff via call bell system.
Always protect the patient's dignity and privacy by keeping the patient covered, the patient room door closed, etc.
The sitter may not make or receive personal phone calls while on duty or use a personal cell phone.
In the case of an emergency, the sitter must notify the nurse that he/she needs to be relieved to make a phone call.
The sitter may not leave until he/she has been relieved.
The sitter may have reading material while on duty, but may only read when the patient is asleep.
The sitter will be relieved for breaks and meals but may not leave the patient until physically relieved by another staff member.

How you'll contribute
An Echocardiology Technician who excels in this role:
Perform Echo procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Review patient history and physician's orders.
Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medication within scope of practice.
Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepare equipment and supplies.
Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunction as necessary.
Position patient and perform imaging procedure(s).
Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedures.
Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Job Description
The Medical Technician is responsible for the direct care and assistance in activities of daily living to residents. The Medical Technician will report directly to the lead RN. He/she must communicate with staff and ensure that facility policies and procedures are followed while providing direct resident care.
Primary Responsibilities
· Responsible for assisting in the nursing care of the facility.
· Organize and perform all jobs to be done by supervised staff.
· Responsibility and accountability for all resident medication.
· Ensure that medication room, medication refrigerators, and medication carts are locked while not in use.
· Adhere to the Controlled Substance Audit Policy and immediately notify the Administrator if the count is inconsistent with the log.
· Responsible for education and knowledge of all residents under your care.
· Ensure all assignments are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
· Follow all physicians' and RN's orders, within your scope of practice.
· Perform rounds for all residents ensuring that Care Plans are followed.
· Assist in writing and updating resident assessments and care plans and have understanding of the MDS and Quality Indicators.
· Notify Medical Records for appointments that need to be made per physician orders received.
· Ensure the accuracy of your work.
· Conduct complete, accurate, and truthful documentation including:
o Initialing and signing all Medication Administration Records and Treatment Administration records when administering medications, treatments, or dietary supplements. Including documentation to indicate medications, treatments, and supplements not administered during your shift.
o All nurse charting including: Daily Scheduled, MDS, Medicare, Charting by Exception, and documentation of lab/diagnostic results.
o Completion of all assigned MDS assessments.

· Understand and follow, quickly and accurately, oral and written instructions and perform arithmetical computations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.

Responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating care specific with diagnostic criteria tailored to meet the needs of the patient population. Ensures that the nursing progress notes and treatment plan reflect the care provided.
Supports staff, patient, and family education to enhance knowledge, skills, and necessary behaviors to facilitate positive outcomes.
Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients, ensuring that the patient's needs are met and that a safe discharge plan is arranged.

· Successful candidate must submit to a TB test, or provide a copy of your latest test results in the last 12 months, and Urine analysis.

The Emergency Room Tech provides technical support for physicians and nurses in the Emergency Center. The purpose of this position is to assist and support the nursing and medical staff of the Emergency Department, to perform patientcare, and environmental tasks, and manage supplies and
equipment to ensure the patient-focused, cost-effective operation of the department. The Emergency
Room Tech will also be responsible for assisting the RN with performing education and observing
chemical tests on patients' or control specimens by clinical staff using the lab and correctly records
appropriate results and uses and maintains all laboratory equipment correctly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists the RNs and physicians in providing technical care of the patients by: Documenting vital
signs, performing phlebotomy and IV starts, performing EKGs, transporting patients, placing
patient on cardiac and vital sign monitors, performing Point of Care Testing, performing wound
care, and obtaining lab specimens and documents all care/procedures provided
• Performs urine drug screens and/or breathalyzer tests, once checked off or trained
• Assists the physician with physical exams, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Applies a variety of orthopedic splints and fits patients for crutches
• Ensure that patientcare areas, storage rooms, and equipment are clean and maintained
• Cleans equipment and workspace (including patient rooms, restrooms, waiting room, and nurse's
station)
• Ensure that there is a sufficient amount of lab supplies, linens, stock room supplies
• Assists with unloading supplies into Emergency Center
• Perform POC and QC lab testing
• Perform daily check of ABC equipment in each room

• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and refers for repair
