    Job DescriptionDescription: The scrub techs will assist the surgeons in the operating room. Primary duties will be providing sterile equipment to the surgeon. Other tasks will include helping prepare the patient for surgery, transferring the patient to the operating table, sterilize equipment to be used in the surgery, maintain cleanliness of the operating room, and to help the surgical team scrub in before entering the OR. *APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREENING*. Applicants must possess a high school diploma, current and up to date CPR/BLS certification, certificate from an accredited training program in Sterile Processing and Distribution, and minimum (1) one year experience as a Sterile Processing Tech within the past 3 years. Requirements: The scrub tech will have to complete tasks including but not limited to: Clean the OR before and after each procedure Set out necessary instruments Ensure instruments are sterilized Position the patient on the operating table Arrange sterile drapes ensuring the surgical field is exposed Will assist the surgical team scrubbing in to include putting on their gloves and gowns Will pass instruments, sponges, and dressings as needed Retract tissue, apply suction, and assist with suturing Clean reusable instruments prior to sterilization Restock the supply room with supplies Correctly identify the patient Prepare the surgical field via shaving and cleaning Keep records during the procedure Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and requests repairs when needed Assists in moving patients in case of fire, disaster or emergency evacuation Follow PPE requirements of LIH which are subject to change but are currently as follows: Mask or Respirator Gloves or appropriate cleaning attire for EVS Standard Working Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Works Weekends, Weekdays, and Holidays as needed 40 Hour Week On call for nights, weekends and holidays The exact days and hours during the week will be assigned by the OR/Surgery Supervisor.
