The Surgical Technologist Certified functions under the direction of the registered professional nurse. Assists the health care team in providing safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patientcare. He/she has knowledge, skill and ability to perform duties within the context of moderate to high acuity surgical cases (with an expectation on occasion to work above this level as cases require) as defined by the scope of anatomy, equipment and instrumentation of the case and anticipates the needs of the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team. Exhibits an acquisition of additional surgical skills for progressively more difficult cases. Demonstrates an efficient, organized surgical plan for assigned cases. Takes initiative to discuss surgical plan with other members of the healthcare team. Able to troubleshoot instruments and equipment. Anticipates any additional supplies or equipment required for procedures. Ability to mentor, precept or train in various modalities. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparation of the operative suite and surgical field to ensure a safe patientcare environment while being vigilant for the maintenance of the sterile field and other patient safety concerns. In addition, they will gather required instruments, supplies and serve as surgical assistant as needed. (not to be confused with a certified surgical first assistant). Other duties as assigned including but not limited to assisting with inventory, ordering and stocking ORs and additional perioperative areas as assigned. Also, ensure that the unit is compliant with Joint Commission standards at all times. Call or late coverage may be required related to the facility in which the ST is working.
DEFINITION:
Certified Surgical Technologist required to have a certificate or associate's degree from a community college or a technical school and have passed the a competency examination through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing

Assists the health care team in providing safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patientcare
- Provides relationship-based patient centered care that is consistent with population specific characteristics (e.g. age, gender, disease, etc) in a manner that adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity under supervision of the registered nurse

- Performs appropriate surgical counts with circulator.
- Actively participates in the procedure pause/time-out.
- Scrubs, gowns, and gloves; Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
- Assists in draping sterile field.
- Passes instruments to surgeon during the procedure. Maintains an organized back table and operative field. Able to anticipate and offer surgeon suggestions throughout the procedure for facilitating cases
- Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure.
- Prepares sterile dressings.
- Actively participates in post procedure pause which includes accounting for proper handling of the specimens.
- Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization, taking initiative to inform SPD of critical need instrument
- Applies principles of asepsis to ensure the prevention of infection and safety of patients and employees
- Prepares case carts according to procedure and preference cards. Reviews surgical schedule and assists clinical coordinator with preparation for future cases
- Observes patients condition and immediately reports any changes or significant findings to the physician and Registered Nurse.
- Proactively plans for the next steps in the progression of procedure as needed, demonstrating an ability to adjust without faltering when an emergency arises

How you will change lives As a PatientCareTechnician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Assisting clients with discharge planning as needed.
Set key goals to be accomplished with the research participants during their inpatient stay by working with each client to identify and prioritize needs and assisting with needs as relevant.
Completing Discharge Summaries for client discharging from the CRU (Clinical Research Unit). Ensuring that all information, medications, follow-up appointments are accurate, and informing treatment providers, care providers, family, referral sources of discharge.
Coordinating transportation for discharge, appointments off unit (visit to SSI office, interview for housing), doctor appointments and ensuring all calendars are updated with necessary information.

Coordinating, supervising and documenting family meetings, case manager visits to the CRU.

Develop relationships with the representatives in other agencies to support research participants in attaining services such as housing, additional mental health care, medication, medical resources, financial assistance, legal advocacy, or other as needed.
Develop and manage weekly groups with inpatient clients focusing on psychosocial needs.

Job Summary
A non-licensed, staff member who is trained to be flexible in a variety of nursing support and transport duties. Performs a variety of clinical tasks including, but not limited to nursing units, cleaning and stocking of patients rooms and other unit areas, and direct patientcare within the scope of defined practice. Functions under the direct supervision of the shift primary nurse. Cares for patients in the adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
Minimum Job Qualifications
* Licensure or other certifications: Current Georgia Certified Nursing Assistant or successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Course if a nursing student.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
* Obtains and reports basic patient physiological data (such as vital signs, weight, skin condition, color, and character of urine
and stool).
* Monitors p.o. intake and urine output, recording amount on appropriate forms.
* Promptly identifies and reports physical and mental status changes to licensed staff assigned to the patient.
* Organizes patientcare and sets appropriate priorities by implementing physician and nursing orders within prescribed time frames.
* Performs therapeutic procedures within the parameters of the job description; reporting patients response to supervising nurse.
* Makes frequent rounds to patients room in addition to responding without prompting to patient call lights, instituting appropriate actions.
* Orients patient/family/SO to unit & room. Greets patient & family in a positive pleasant manner with each encounter.
* Explains procedure or care to be provided to patient prior to start of procedure.
* Accurately & timely records patient data and forwards to supervisory staff within established time frames.
* Attains proficiency with all required IT systems to support the clinical staff & accurate documentation of patientcare.
* Answers the telephone in a polite and courteous manner. Screens and refers all calls appropriately to ensure accurate communication. Refers all calls to leave orders for patientcare to licensed staff. Relays telephone, verbal, and written requests accurately to the appropriate individual (s).
* Places reports (ie:, x-ray, etc.) in patient's chart or insures reports are sent to appropriate units.
* Contributes to patient safety by: Utilization of Universal Precautions for all patients. Careful adherence to NGHS Hand Hygiene policy. Providing a safe patient environment (i.e. call light within reach, side-rails up, etc.) Obtaining and restocking isolation supplies for patients on Infection Precautions. Completing and documenting equipment cleaning responsibilities as well as maintaining properly functioning equipment. Promptly reports equipment issues to charge nurse.
* Distributes linen and ice to patients as needed in addition to frequently offering refreshments as patient's diet permits.
* Replaces telemetry batteries as needed.
* Performs patient transport functions as needed by the unit.
* Cleans and restocks the nursing district offices and treatment room.
* Changes out sharps containers located in patient rooms and district offices when containers are two-thirds full.
* Replaces glove boxes and disinfectant wipes in patient rooms.
* Prepares room for new admissions. (make sure PPE is stocked, bed is turned down and any appropriate supplies or equipment is available for the incoming patient.
* Participates in staff meeting with no more than two absences per year.
* Reads and responds to e-mails in timely manner.
* Exhibits flexibility in scheduling to meet department staffing needs.
* Completes unit specific annual competency assessment requirements (Success Factors & Clinical Competency Checklist) within specific timelines.

Position Overview
The Behavioral Health Technician is a vital member of the Southern Live Oak Wellness System of Care. Under the supervision of the Director of Housing and Transportation, the BHT is responsible for ensuring client safety, monitoring behavior, documenting observations, and maintaining a structured, supportive therapeutic environment.
This role is ideal for individuals who are calm under pressure, strong problem-solvers, and interested in growing within the mental health field.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain continuous supervision and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment
Provide consistent support and model appropriate behavior for adult clients
Monitor, observe, and document client behavior and participation
Conduct client counts and maintain accurate documentation
Supervise self-administered medications as directed
Assist with implementation of daily and weekly residential structure
Complete and submit incident reports and immediately notify leadership of safety concerns
Report medical emergencies, elopements, or ACA incidents promptly
Complete end-of-shift reports via email to the Director
Orient new admissions and complete residential intake documentation
Search new client belongings to prevent contraband entry
Conduct random residential searches for contraband
Monitor transitional living curfews and ensure rule compliance
Transport clients to appointments, support groups, activities, and other facilities using company vehicles
Attend all staff meetings and mandatory trainings
Follow infection control, safety, and facility guidelines at all times
Report any illness or symptoms of contagious disease to leadership
Knowledge, Skills & Training
Ability to interact professionally with clients and staff
Strong crisis-management, decision-making, and stress-management skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
Knowledge of substance use disorders and their physical, emotional, and psychological impact
Ability to recognize medical emergencies and take appropriate action
