DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.
Conducts a careful examination of the patient for signs and symptoms of illness/injury and assists other medical personnel as necessary.
Administers prompt and efficient basic life support care within the limits of licensure or certification and in accordance with approved protocols prior to and during transport.
Provides careful handling of the patient to and from the ambulance.
Provides safe and efficient transport of the patient in the ambulance to the medical facility.
Provides a safe and efficient transfer of patient and patientcare information to the receiving personnel at the destination.
Documents all aspects of patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports. Obtains and records non-medical patient information as required. Completes other patient documentation and forms as required.
Conducts regular unit inventory and equipment testing to ensure all equipment for which the EMT-Basic is responsible is present, clean and in proper working order.
Upon completion of transport, responsible for all assigned duties which will place the ambulance and equipment back in service.
Responsible for full knowledge of the ambulance's basic life support equipment and its proper use at all times.
Documents and reports all needed repairs to the proper maintenance departments (electronic or mechanical) as well as to supervisors and other ambulance personnel as required.
In the absence of other qualified personnel, responsible for the use of basic extrication tools and procedures to gain access to the patient if necessary.
In the absence of other qualified personnel, responsible for controlling the patient's surroundings in such a way as to minimize further danger and control the actions of bystanders.
In both the emergency and non-emergency setting, operates / drives the ambulance in a safe and efficient manner, following company driving guidelines, so the safety or condition of the occupants are not compromised.
Follows all FCC regulations when communicating via electronic communications equipment.
Attends all mandatory meetings as scheduled.
Completes assigned station and station grounds duties.
Orders supplies and equipment from Central Supply to replenish station and ambulance inventories as needed.
Completes assigned ambulance duties (i.e., washing, waxing, interior and exterior cleaning, etc.) as required.
Completes all required company reports and logs and when necessary provides other ambulance and supervisory personnel with the information.
Approved Field Training Officer are responsible for precepting EMT-Basic students as well as new employees as directed.

· manage all time clock activity and attendance for all Behavioral Health Technician and ensure all Behavioral Health Technician are complying with Agency policies related to time and attendance;
· ensure all Behavioral Health Technician are aware of and complying with Agency Policies and Procedures, and is responsible for any counseling activities or corrective actions for staff as needed;
· to express the concerns of the Behavioral Health Technician to the Program Manager;
· familiarize self with resident and milieu issues by reading feedback log;
· contact on-call staff if needed;
· conduct and/or organize meetings run by Behavioral Health Technician
· participate in weekly staff meetings upon request;
· witness, complete, and document urine drug screens when indicated;
· complete incident reports as needed, ensure BHT are completing incident reports per Agency policy, ensure all incident reports are submitted to Program Manager in a timely manner;
· monitor clients to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities
· maintain a list of tasks and requirements to ensure compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness
· coordinate or conduct required bed checks and record whether client is awake or sleeping; and
· perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills

· 3 years' experience working in the substance abuse field and in an inpatient setting

· ensure a safe environment for guests;

The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct supervision of the Residential clients in treatment. Behavioral Health Technicians work directly with the clients supervising all daily activities. Clients in treatment reside at the agency's main campus and therefore Behavioral Health Technicians are needed for direct client supervision 24 hours and 7 days per week. All Behavioral Health Technicians report directly to the Recovery Support Staff Supervisor of Residential treatment and are expected to work closely with all clinical, medical, and other Residential staff to ensure clients receive comprehensive substance abuse treatment services.
Responsibilities and Duties
It is the duty and responsibility of the Behavioral Health Technician to:• ensure a safe environment for clients;• exercise therapeutic communication skills;• take steps to de-escalate distressed clients;• observe and document client behavior; • assist with therapeutic and recreational activities;• monitor clients' physical well-being;• provide input regarding client progress to the interdisciplinary team;• oversee the activities of the facility when there is no professional staff on duty; • possess adequate orientation and skills to assess situations related to relapse and to provide access to appropriate medical care when needed; • function as client advocate; • monitor residents to ensure their compliance with daily schedules and to ensure their safety at all times;• receive and pass verbal and written feedback to clinical, medical, and other Residential staff as requested about client activity and behaviors;• monitor visits from children and family members and provide documentation as requested by clinical staff and Recovery Support Staff Supervisor;• monitor and observe clients taking medications as requested by Residential nursing or the Recovery Support Staff Supervisor, complete all required documents in the clients charts as instructed, and inform Recovery Support Staff Supervisor and Residential nursing of any problems or concerns;• complete all Incident Reports prior to the end of scheduled shift as required by Incident Policy and Procedure;• assist with the planning and organization of therapeutic client activities both on and off the main campus;• conduct urine screens as requested and complete all required documentation;• facilitate and supervise all client feedback meetings; • facilitate and monitor client phone calls; • facilitate and supervise any community or in-house 12 step meetings (must be Present);• complete client bed checks every 30 minutes or as requested by Program Manager and complete required documentation via emails during night runs;• complete facility security rounds and ensure all doors and gates are locked and secured when appropriate;• submit shift reports to Recovery Support Staff Supervisor throughout shift via email as requested;• contact Recovery Support Staff Supervisor in the event of a fire or evacuation of the treatment facility as required;• perform strip and property searches on all new clients as requested and perform strip searches on clients returning to the program from outside activities (NO CAVITY SEARCH);• assist with other program functions as requested by Recovery Support Staff Supervisor including but not limited to transportation and monitoring of the front desk;• assist with providing clients cigarettes as scheduled per shift requiring staff to be in a smoking area with approximately 70-80 people smoking at one time;• collect, wash and dry all client clothing and linen as assigned on laundry day• perform other duties as required.
