Performs other related work as required or requested.

Potential for exposure to hazardous and toxic substances including chemotherapy, cytotoxic drugs, and cleaning solutions. The Therapy Care Specialist will work with SoleoRx TCMC model and utilize national and local resources to facilitate high quality care of a patient with specialty pharmacy needs. Under the supervision of a staff pharmacist, the technician is responsible for providing technical support to pharmacists at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. This includes, but is not limited to, the preparation, packaging and delivery of medications for both inpatients and outpatients.
High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a pharmacy tech program preferred.
Licensed as a pharmacy technician in the State of Wisconsin
One year experience in a pharmaceutical environment preferred.
Good interpersonal and customer relations skills are needed to communicate effectively with various hospital personnel and families and to gather and exchange factual pharmaceutical information.
Ability to work well under pressure due to time constraints and varying workloads.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
Ability to operate a computer in order to generate lists, process medication orders, enter charges/credits, generate labels, retrieve patient information, and handle automated dispensing unit functions.
Ability to walk and stand up to 80% of the work time.
Ability to push, pull, and lift weights up to 30 pounds for up to 25% of the work time. This is required when exchanging unit dose carts and stocking pharmacy areas.
