This position will play a critical leadership role in establishing operational excellence and culture at a brand-new facility that integrates multiple production systems under one roof. Initially this role will report to the VP of Capex & Scale Up. Once the plant is commissioned this role will report to the General Manager of Operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Plant Commissioning & Startup Partner with the CapEx and Scale-Up Development teams to transition the facility from construction to operational readiness. Oversee installation, shakedown, and commissioning of process systems for both liquid hydrolysate and chitosan production. Develop startup plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for new operators and technicians. Lead initial production trials, ensuring product specifications are met and performance data is captured for process optimization. Establish the foundation for a seamless handoff to steady-state operations and alignment with the General Manager of Operations. Direct daily production operations for all process lines, ensuring throughput, quality, and efficiency goals are achieved. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, downtime, yield, and energy consumption. Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to ensure timely material flow from shell receiving to finished product shipment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and sustain long-term operational stability. Collaborate closely with Quality Control (QC) staff to maintain standards and address deviations. Identify opportunities for process automation, waste reduction, and increased energy efficiency. Serve as the primary on-site leader, representing Tidal Vision's values and commitment to sustainable innovation. Responsible for training and implementing Basic Lean Principles as deemed by the General Manager of Operations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Business Management, or a closely related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in bioprocessing, food production, or specialty chemical industries. Demonstrated success leading plant startups, process optimization, or multi-line production facilities. Experience with liquid hydrolysates or enzymatic digestion preferred. Strong working knowledge of industrial safety programs, maintenance systems, and process controls (PLC/SCADA). Proven ability to build and lead teams, manage cross-functional collaboration, and maintain accountability in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Excellent communication, planning, and leadership skills with a focus on results and continuous improvement. Experience with developing and implementing Lean Principles throughout an organization. Working Conditions and physical requirements: Work is performed primarily within Tidal Vision's warehouses and production facilities. The Life Enrichment/Activities Director reports to the Executive Director. Essential Functions of the Life Enrichment/Activities Director Familiar with and adheres to state regulations and company policy and procedures pertaining to activities. Completes My Life Story for each resident in collaboration with the resident and/or family preferably prior to or during the move-in process (no later than 3 business days after move-in). Files original in the resident's chart and keeps a copy in a secure area that is accessible to associates; uses My Life Story to develop a base on which to create the program of activities to meet the residents' individual needs. Ensures that the program will include morning, afternoon, and evening activities, 7 days a week, 365 days a year; Present for or assures coverage for all activities, including those occurring on holidays, evenings, and weekends. Creates a well-balanced program to reflect activities that meet residents' social, emotional, recreational, spiritual, educational, and physical needs. Plans activities and makes arrangements to carry out plans; Creates a monthly calendar of activities/events, which is posted centrally in the community by the first of each month. A copy is also given to each resident. Maintains program activities within the budget, purchases departmental supplies, keeps a record of expenditures via expense spenddown sheets, and turns in receipts for payment/reimbursement in a timely manner. Monitors inventory and is responsible for activities, supplies, and equipment. In collaboration with the Executive Director and the Community Resident Council, coordinates and may lead monthly Resident Council Meeting, with minutes recorded and maintained in the Life Enrichment Department. Develops a transportation program to include regularly scheduled trips into the community (i.e., shopping, meals out, etc.); For Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities, collaborates with the Wellness Director to devise a schedule that allows the van to be scheduled for medical appointments on a regular basis; Assist in escorting residents on trips, as necessary. Assists the Sales Team in developing and implementing the community's marketing plan; Provide tours to the residents; May be required to serve as weekend Manager on Duty per the community's program. Participates in stand-up meetings, family meetings, and other meetings as requested by the Executive Director. Coordinates volunteer program, including recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers; Includes residents and family volunteers when available and appropriate; Contacts community sources to expand volunteer base and to vary resident activities. Works with other department heads as needed to ensure activities run smoothly (i.e. submits special event request forms to Food Service Director for activities requiring food). Responsible for care of pets, which belong to the community; Maintains veterinary records as required by State regulations; May enlist the help of volunteers (resident or outside) but is ultimately responsible for the proper care of each pet. Supervise and provide direction to Life Enrichment Assistants. Attends community in-services and teaches as requested. Maintains certification, if certified, according to standards set forth by the certification's governing body. Non-Essential Functions of the Life Enrichment/Activities Director Participates in New Hire Orientation by teaching the Life Enrichment segment. Supports and participates in the resident centered activity programs. Participates in projects or committees as assigned. Attends all associate meetings including in-service education and associate functions, as requested by supervisor. Assists in variety of tasks involving residents as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Degree or experience in Human Services, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, or Art Therapy desired.
