What You'll Be Working On

We are seeking highly motivated Grain Interns at our Hope, MN location for the summer months of May to August. Our internship experience will offer valuable insight into the grain industry through mentorship and real-world experiences.

Five Key Roles:
Learn from Crystal Valley's Experienced Staff
Develop a deeper understanding of the grain business and industry
Learn the origination strategies and contracts that aid in the procurement of grain
Gain a better understanding of futures, basis, options, and typical market trends
Provide First Class Customer Service
Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective customers
Assist in educating customers on current market trends, grain quotes, contract alternatives and grain marketing programs
Engage in Real Life Work Experiences
Learn to communicate agricultural commentary as it relates to local and global agricultural economies
Understand and perform day-to-day grain operations including loading and unloading of grain, equipment maintenance and housekeeping and loading of unit trains
Assist in creating and editing grain contracts
Work with the most up-to-date software and technology within grain industry
Opportunity to operate locomotive during loading of unit trains
Attend Internship Networking/Development Opportunities
Attend training, professional development and continuing education opportunities
Sharpen your professional development/soft skills
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Ag Business, Business Management, or other Agriculture related degree program
Agricultural background preferred
Desire to serve farmers, agribusinesses and others involved in the agriculture industry
Willingness to work long hours (weekends and holidays included)
Basic equipment operation skills
Must get it, want it, and have the capacity to perform (GWC)
