1955On Friday, August 19, 1955 the Naugatuck river floods, destroying most of Platt’s buildings and nearly destroying the company.

1998November, 1998 Platt acquires Manhattan American, a manufacturer of terrazzo floor divider strops located in Staley, NC.
2010September, 2010, Platt acquires Newmark Medical Components, which specializes in parts used in medical applications.

BLOOMINGTON, IN—During its annual meeting in St Louis, the Organization of American Historians (OAH) announced that James D. Rice, State University of New York at Plattsburgh, has been selected to receive the 2015 Germany Residency at the University of Tübingen.
A total of 50 recipients received 2015 OAH awards.
