In early 2010 the City of Hermitage worked with HHSDR, Architects/Engineers to finalize the design, plans, specifications, and bid documents and with assistance from the Pittsburgh Green Building Alliance incorporated various energy efficiency and sustainable design features.
On February 23rd, 2011 the City of Hermitage Board of Commissioners enacted Ordinance 1-2011 authorizing the creation of the LindenPointe Development Corporation.
Rien Construction was the lead contractor, the eCenter was completed in late 2011 and was the area’s first commercial building to achieve “LEED Silver” certification by the United States Green Building Council.
The eCenter was opened for business in 2012 and the LindenPointe Development Corporation (LDC), a 501c3 nonprofit, leases and operates the eCenter incubation and business development programs.
In the fall of 2016, Maine Pointe became a member of the Global Supply Chain Institute (GSCI), University of Tennessee.
In July 2019, Maine Pointe announced the beginning of a new chapter when SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, acquired a majority stake in the business.
