I support several advanced research efforts focused on extending and applying AI technologies to multi-source, multi-phenomenology data. As a Chief Scientist, I work across the company to identify opportunities to strategically advance our technical capabilities, focusing on knowledge extraction and information fusion from structured and unstructured sources. My current research efforts involve applications of data mining and machine learning technology using Apache Spark, TensorFlow, complex event processing, and multi-hypothesis probabilistic reasoning. In this line of research, we are combining aspects of information fusion, data mining, Fuzzy Logic, and Bayesian Reasoning to support proactive decision making and causal analysis. In a related effort, I am applying Long Short-Term Memory (LSTMs) units to support event-based pattern of life (POL) modeling and anomaly detection. I previously completed a successful career in the US Air Force where my last assignment was at the US Air Force Academy as a Deputy Department Head for the Department of Mathematical Sciences; I taught a variety of courses there including calculus, engineering mathematics, probability and statistics, and operations research.
