Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Lab Tutor to provide tutoring support to students enrolled in English as a Second Language courses. Tutoring for the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of writing, reading, grammar, and pronunciation will be provided.
This is a part-time, hourly position.
Examples of Duties:
Provide tutoring services to students in the areas of:
writing
reading
grammar
pronunciation
Qualifications:
Some English teaching and/or tutoring experience is required.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $16-$22, depending upon highest educational degree obtained.

New Jersey Sick Leave: Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. (Eligible to use after successful completion of probationary period.)

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supports the department's goal of providing students with supplemental academic support by:
* Provides one-on-one and small group tutoring support
* Provides subject-specific content strategies, attuned to different learning styles and preferences, to help students understand key concepts learned in class
* Provides direct assistance in the use of equipment and learning materials needed for student's success
* Conducts "class visits" and assists with publicizing the College's tutoring services
* Assists with the maintenance of accurate records in accordance to stated deadlines
* Completes all necessary paperwork accurately and according to stated deadlines
* Assists with the development and maintenance of departmental instructional materials
* Performs other duties as assigned

The Professional Math Tutor supports student learning and success across all levels of mathematics at Georgian Court University. Working as part of the Office of Student Success, the Professional Math Tutor collaborates with faculty, advisors, and student support staff to create equitable pathways for academic achievement and persistence. Essential Functions:
Provide one-on-one and group tutoring for students in mathematics courses across the curriculum, from foundational math through advanced topics.

Support students in developing effective study strategies, time management, and problem-solving approaches that enhance academic confidence and performance.
Utilize and teach the use of graphing calculators, mathematical software, and digital tools to support conceptual understanding.

Assist students in interpreting assignments, reviewing problem sets, and preparing for exams, ensuring support aligns with course expectations.

Qualifications:
