Job Description
Primary responsibilities and qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Typeset & print design of customer collateral & promotional material
• Produces layouts based upon external and internal requests or pre-established campaign or graphic
standard system
• Performs pre-press responsibilities to include but not limited to scaling, cropping, retouching, repositioning, pre-flighting, optimizing and packaging final files and preparing for print, distribution and archival.
• Ensures accuracy of work and files, quality checks and constantly looking to improve the quality of work
and standards
• Archives assets properly and manages shared digital assets
• Manages project workload and deadlines
• Communicates with customers and internal staff
• Follows a layout to place computer generated vinyl or full-color graphic images on a pre-determined substrate
or medium
• Prepares substrates for application which may include cutting, laminating, cleaning and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application
• Weeds excess vinyl from computer cut images
• Performs quality assurance measures pre- and post-production
• Performs finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Reports inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the Owner
• Works on different projects simultaneously
• Performs routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary
• Loads materials on/into printer and/or laminator which may require some heavy lifting
• Cutting, weeding and applying vinyl for heat press requests
• Internal print design for marketing department
• Graphic work for web or social media
• Detail oriented with an ability to multi-task
• Other job related duties or projects as assigned
Qualifications
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite CS5 or higher (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & Acrobat Pro)
• Excellent writing and editing skills and a keen eye for details
• Provide a portfolio of work and speak to the creative, technical and production management skills
• Ability to work full-time in office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The individual will start by using Adobe Illustrator to simplify the garment style to an outline, or blueprint, of the most important style lines, this “broken-down” form of the original garment style is then converted to be utilized within Gerber Accumark. This Gerber file will contain a single pattern piece in a single size and is ready to be used to create a full size run. Before grading, the Gerber Pro should make sure that final pattern pieces are consistent across the entire size run. Once the pro has graded all style lines to the full size run, the pro will export and then open the files in Adobe Illustrator and double check each individual size to make sure it is a properly proportionate representation of the original style in its base size.
This individual must be highly detailed, possess strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills and work well independently.

We are seeking May 2026 graduates who would be interested in joining Populous. We are seeking students that are passionate about pushing the threshold of design and can work in the Kansas City office with our Brand Activation team. What Your Day Could Consist Of:
Create impactful graphics for high profile national and international client brands that include the corporate, entertainment, hospitality, collegiate and sports markets.
Create a cohesive visual style for each project that will guide the graphic development of individual elements forward.
Through close collaboration with clients, discover opportunities to amplify the character of a place, conveying the brand's identity in imaginative and compelling ways within venues and facilities.
Conceptualize and design both 2D environmental graphics and dimensional exhibits, displays and interior features.
Collaborate with graphic designers, wayfinding planners, detailers, interior designers and architects.
Manage construction documents and large bodies of information for projects form concept through fabrication and install.
Research, design, and implementation of user centered wayfinding systems for complex places that make navigation easy.
Requirements For Success:
Exceptional branding and experiential graphic design sensibilities.
Demonstrates the ability to push innovation, solve problems creatively and engage in a dynamic collaborative design environment.
Detail oriented, learns quickly and adapts to new responsibilities.
Understands how to read architectural plans, elevations and details.
Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and staying on schedule.
Desire to work collaboratively with architects, interior designers, and planners. We believe that successful place-making demands and integrated analysis across many disciplines.
Strong work ethic, with demonstrated efficiency, flexibility and a positive spirit.
Strong communication and presentation abilities.
High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat), and MS Office required.
