As the Production Supervisor with PPG's Aerospace business, you will have direct supervisory responsibility for a designated production area. This is an onsite 2nd shift, possibly 12 hour 24/7, position at our Huntsville, AL facility. You will report to the Prep Operations manager. Manufacturing Productionmanages or assists with managing various production activities (e.g. , assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc. ) including: Planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards; Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources; Planning, prioritizing, and managingproduction line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
Leads and supports an assigned Production Area including safety, team focus on risk reduction, and improvements.
Planning daily work and assigning resources and monitoring results.
Hires, mentors, counsels, and coach employees related to performance and company policies and procedures.
Prioritizes and maintains production progress including workflow by observing steps in process; constraints in flow and equipment, monitoring staffing and resources, studying methods; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections and recovery efforts of flow.
Compiles reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or supervisory role.
Prior experience in a 24/7 production environment or aerospace manufacturing.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools and 5S preferred
Willing to work an 2nd shift schedule as needed, including 24/7 coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
A minimum of 5 years of engine assembly, component manufacturing, aviation quality shop floor management/process improvement experience in the Aerospace/Manufacturing industry OR relevant experience in Supply Chain software solution deployment.
As this role requires a US Government Secret-level clearance, the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance.
