Duties and Responsibilities
Proposal Development: Work with senior lawyers to understand the opportunity and draw out essential messaging and approach. Draft tailored pitches/proposals/RFP responses that effectively communicate our value proposition and highlight relevant expertise in M&A and related practices.
Content Development and Management: Write, edit, proofread and maintain a library of reusable materials to ensure an efficient response process with the most up‑to‑date experience and awards. Ensure well‑written, up‑to‑date representative client lists and matters/deal descriptions. Maintain descriptions in the firm's experience database.
Market Research: Use marketing research to leverage insights into tailored proposals.
Project Management: Own the proposal development process from initial request to final delivery, ensuring quality and timeliness.
Collaboration: Work closely with partners and other stakeholders to ensure incorporation of varied feedback into presentations.
Reporting: Maintain all pitch/proposal/RFP‑related activities and materials within the firm's centralized CRM system and other experience and content management systems. Provide regular updates on business development activities and track success metrics related to pitch and proposal outcomes.
Uphold high standards of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity, particularly with respect to all sensitive and/or confidential firm and client information to which this position will have access.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Business, Marketing, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
Experience in business development within the legal industry or experience putting together decks for an investment bank or consulting firm.
Understanding of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and other transactional services.
Interest in the M&A market and curiosity and competitiveness to win more business and keep current clients.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong client service orientation.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across multiple teams and levels of management.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and attention to detail. Pride in work product is important.

Qualifications You Must Have

Job Description
As Head of Bids and Proposal, you will lead the successful delivery of high-quality bid submissions across all business segments, from new product development and mature product delivery to through-life support. You'll deliver a consistent, efficient tender production process while driving excellence at every stage of the bid lifecycle.
Working closely with representatives across the business, you will add tangible value by ensuring proposals are compelling, compliant, and strategically aligned. You will oversee resource allocation, manage bid schedules, and provide leadership and mentorship to the bid production and administration teams. This position will provide financial and grant management oversight and leadership to the programmatic staff, while ensuring that BPHC meets the terms and conditions of the sponsors/funders by tracking and meeting report deadlines, managing audit compliance, and implementing institutional policies and procedures. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Grant Compliance and Reporting:
Maintain financial management and oversee compliance for an assigned portfolio of grants and contracts; in accordance with government regulations, funder requirements, and BPHC Policies.
Review new/revised grants/contracts set-up requirements within accounting system for accuracy and compliance.
Work collaboratively with programs & departments to ensure compliance requirements of grants/contracts are met.
Assist with managing annual Uniform Guidance Audit and other sponsor audits as necessary.
Review grant-related financial transactions prior to entry into accounting system.

Process invoices to grantor agencies/funders in a timely manner and monitor collection of grant receivables.
Reconcile grant A/R billings with cash receipts and financial reports. Work to resolve discrepancies with the Accounting team.
Prepare grant-related journal entries, including salary and wage, indirect expense allocations and reclassifications.
Ensure that cost transfers resulting from unusual circumstances or unanticipated project expenses are appropriately documented and transferred to the correct source of funds prior to close-out of the award.
Meet regularly with PDs and BAs to keep them apprised of the grant/contract's progress, review project financial transactions/reconciliations, and provide direction where needed.
Monitor encumbrance balances on a monthly basis and ensure that the balance reflects current purchase obligations for the award and that obsolete purchase orders are voided or closed on a timely basis.
