The plant is located in a small city near Lacrosse Wisconsin in the beautiful Mississippi River valley. This engineering Manager will report yo the Vice President of Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Represents quality efforts through collaboration with internal and external customers. Job Summary:
Trane Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Test Engineering Manager in La Crosse, WI. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team in technical support of processes related to the testing of HVAC centrifugal water-cooled chillers. This includes sustaining engineering, new product launch processes and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining production processes to drive quality and efficiency and to develop manufacturing plans which improve operations competitiveness.
Position Responsibilities:
* Responsible for unit assembly processes and performance test loops of centrifugal water-cooled chillers.
* Responsible for ensuring test loop readiness to support mission critical customer demands and witnesses.
* Responsible for driving product quality improvements with ownership of the Cost of Quality to help eliminate waste and meet organizational goals.
* Responsible for driving improvements to equipment, tools, technologies and other factors impacting production capability and capacity.
* Working with a cross functional team to manages, develop, and improve testing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, and systems
* Supports ISO and other company standard practices and procedures such as the Quality Management System (QMS) and Business Operating System (BOS) via Leader Standard Work.
* Provide training and development in problem solving methods, Design of Experiments (DoE), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plans.
* Responsible for Non-Conformance Material Reviews; lead team in developing and coordinating rework of materials while minimizing cost to company.
* Evaluate field and internal failures with the Product Quality Team and aid in problem solving and root cause analysis.
* Supervises tooling activities, including design, order, maintenance, gages; and fulfill customer requirements relating to engineering or processing, i.e. FMEA, flow charting, and problem solving.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering fields required.
* Seven years (6+) years of experience in manufacturing engineering with at least 2 years of leadership experience required.
* Understanding of control system design, PLC, industrial wiring, panels and programming required.
* In-depth knowledge, understanding and application of APQP tools, to include process flows, process FMEAs and control plans, to meet Quality and Reliability requirements and targets.
* Experience in engineering systems to include CAD, PLM and MES systems. Ability to contribute in design reviews and assist during validation and qualification, to include safety and ergonomics.
* Experience in coding programs such as C++, SQL, or Python recommended.
* Possess a passion for driving the team to achieve results with a sense of urgency.
* Experience with lean principles and techniques to include Visual Management, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Cycle Time Reduction and Process Balancing, 5S, Set Up Reduction (SMED), and Kanban.

What this role is all about:
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Lead in La Crosse, WI.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for training, monitoring, and instructing the Quality Assurance Technicians in the plant to ensure the department possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve organization goals. This position assists the Quality Assurance Supervisor with daily tasks and workload as needed and partners with the production leadership team on resolution of quality-related issues. The Quality Assurance Lead is also responsible for educating plant employees on quality requirements related to production and Select Custom Solutions' pre-requisite programs. Finally, this position assists in decision making regarding plant and process deviations, quality issues and retail packaging/labeling issues.
Job Duties:
Train all new QA Technicians and act as the primary resource for QA technicians regarding line deviations.
Verifies that QA Technician projects are completed on time and correctly.
Monitor quality and food safety practices to assure adherence to product specifications, regulatory auditing compliance, and plant policies/ procedures.
Update and review production and quality inspection checklists.
Monitor and educate production employees on quality requirements; schedule and perform all sample training for production operators.
Report observations/ issues pertaining to pre-requisite programs (Good Manufacturing Processes, training, calibrations, pest management, cleaning/sanitation, environmental monitoring, supplier approval, and allergen control).
Collaborate in investigations, decision-making, and the implementation of changes to plant and process deviations, customer complaints and other product/material non-conformances (retail packaging/labeling, raw ingredients) within production as needed.
Lead the resolution of assigned customer complaints; providing formal communication back to customers as appropriate.
Investigate quality-related events that occur on all three shifts and ensure that events were handled appropriately; follow-up to obtain additional information to be used during Corrective Action meetings.
Evaluate product disposition and decision-making regarding Product Holds.
Act as back-up hold program manager if the QA Plant Supervisor and QA Manager are absent or unavailable.
Coordinate, issue, and track product hold movements within hold manager. Regularly update product hold records and submit for final approval.
Initiate and direct periodic hold inventory reconciliation.
Review contractor permits and establishes quality controls for contracted construction projects within the facility.
Actively participate in maintaining required plant certifications including, but not limited to SQF, NFS, Kosher, Organic, Certified Gluten Free, and Halal.
Successfully complete special projects for continuous improvement, cost reductions, or safety improvements as assigned.
Fill in for the Quality Assurance Technician in the production facility as needed.
This position has contact with customers for tours and audits, regulatory agencies for audits, suppliers and vendors, and trade organizations for professional development.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the HACCP program and participate on the HACCP team as needed

* Leads facility partners to bring expert assessment and problem-solving skills to ensure reliable, safe systems of care for all patients.
* Develops and maintains positive working relationships with leadership, physicians, colleagues and peers and works collaboratively to achieve desired outcomes.
* Collaborates and effectively communicates and drives culture of safety and high-reliability initiatives; partners with leadership and clinicians to implement improvements. Increases patient safety and evidence-based practice awareness and practice among clinicians and staff through mentoring and education. Manages project and process improvement expectations to stakeholders, sponsors and others advising them on project progress, potential issues, obstacles, conflicts or challenges.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Serves as a key quality contact with leadership, managers and staff responsible for the execution of corrective actions initiatives/projects and compliance with customer requirements.
* Supports leadership with the development and implementation of quality improvement and patient safety process changes. Makes recommendations for unit-based process change activities. Evaluates the effectiveness of process change initiatives.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Maintains all programs to ensure compliance to accreditation standards and regulatory agency requirements. Conducts record review for performance improvement, peer review, patient safety, risk management and other projects.
* Facilitates and leads process and performance improvement teams and initiatives. Participates in and facilitates unit-based and departmental process change activities. Evaluates the effectiveness and sustainability of process change initiatives and makes changes as necessary to achieve goals.
* Tracks, analyzes, and uses data for trending and develops appropriate action plans and strategies in collaboration with clinicians and leadership. Conducts record review for performance improvement, peer review, patient safety, risk management and other projects.
* Abstracts pertinent information and enters into department databases using standardized methods and processes to maintain data integrity. Routinely performs discrepancy management activities to maintain data integrity. Presents meaningful reports and analysis with measurement description, statistical information, and benchmarking information. Creates and presents executive summaries as needed to various audiences to drive change.
* Supports improvement efforts for potential or actual quality of care/risk issues including participation/facilitation of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), or event review as needed. Supports leadership and staff with the development and implementation of process changes. Summarizes events and presents findings as needed. Facilitates system's design to hardwire patient safety processes.
* Focuses on implementing and reinforcing principles that support a high-reliability organization. Contributes to the continued improvement of patient safety practices, employs evidence-based practice and researches high-reliability practices through national Patient Safety Organizations (e.g., Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), National Quality Forum (NQF)). Facilitates systems' design to hardwire patient safety processes.

* Utilizes efficient and cost-effective work practices with department resource and supplies; provides recommendations to reduce expenses.
* Facilitates performance improvement projects/initiatives to improve outcomes, ultimately impacting hospital finances.

* Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement in accordance with hospital leadership.
* Analyzes and assesses present and future needs, trends, challenges, and opportunities related to hospital processes and operations. Communicates innovative and best practices to hospital leadership and clinicians. Identifies opportunities to align policy and procedure with regulatory/accreditation requirements.
