Purpose This intermediate-level position is responsible for conducting routine Quality Assurance (QA) testing materials for quality and compliance within set specifications and reporting the results to appropriate personnel. This position can be responsible for either aggregate, asphalt or geology materials technician duties. This position qualifies for a monthly truck allowance. Must possess Caltrans JTCP Certification Agg I, NAQTC for Nevada, HMA I, HMA II or ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level I. Certification requirement will depend on assigned location and at the directed by the Supervisor. Must obtain ACI Aggregate Testing Tech I, and Tech II and Aggregate/Soils Base Testing Technician Certificate. What You'll Do: Ensure Quality Control. Conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials to ensure quality control of products at the point of production, shipping, and arrival upon the job site. Adhere to testing methods, including American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
