Quality Technicians are responsible for assuring that manufactured items are made or assembled correctly, and that the products meet customer standards. Quality Technicians work with the manufacturing Process Technicians and Operators to maintain quality standards by approving in-process production, conducting visual checks, and approving finished products, recording the quality results while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MUST HAVE: 1year minimum inspection experience with knowledge of basic equipment; calipers, micrometers, pin gauges and other gages required.
Good communication skills are a must.
Daily must communicate with all shift quality inspectors, shift managers, quality managers, process techs, mold setters, operators, and plant manager.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Document dimensional measurements; inputting data into quality data base at startup, during manufacturing process and last shot per standards.
Visually compare product against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations in processes.
Provide technical support for production.
Responsible for declaring any non-conformities relating to the product, process, and quality system.
Responsible for performing daily process and product audits and supporting immediate corrections to non-conformances that can be corrected on the spot.
Reports/Records quality problems or findings to shift process tech and follows up with quality forms to ensure that corrective action has/will take place.
If there is a problem and product does not meet specification, work with process tech to figure out the root cause.
Sort, rework product from containment area as required, confirming rework.
Oversee assigned presses, assist operators on part visual acceptability and process procedures as required. Relieve operators during break periods if needed.
Assist in the training of operators as needed.

Key Responsibilities: The Quality Technician will ensure quality goals are met through an operational and analytical focus, an attention to detail, defect detection and corrective/preventative action, with strong internal partnerships with the production department. This is a fast paced job that requires walking, standing, and satisfactory multitasking. The Quality Technician *will:- Be responsible for monitoring and maintaining key indicators of product quality and safety through inspection, testing and communication.
Promote maintenance of food safety and quality programs, HACCP, allergen control, ingredient control, GMP's, document control, traceability, product quality reviews, and corrective/preventative action.
Be responsible for reporting any deviations in quality processes to the Quality Supervisor.
Have ahands-on approach and strong interpersonal skills that allow you to become familiar with the plant processes and work with others to ensure alignment and drive continuous improvement within the daily operations in the plant.
Ensure alignment of plant procedures with quality policy and SQF elements
Ensure all testing and inspections are aligned with plant quality procedures and specifications
Develop a strong knowledge of plant floor activities
Support the maintenance of SQF certification
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma and/or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of quality systems to ensure food safety and quality
Strong interpersonal skills, strong documentation skills
Working knowledge in Microsoft software and computing skills
The ability to follow standard operating procedures
1+ years of industry experience in quality systems
Two year or BS degree in scientific field
Working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment (scales, thermometers, calipers, analyzers).
