Quest Diagnostics/Phenopath job in Birmingham, AL
Under the direction of the Branch Manager or Field Leader, the Mobile Examiner's primary responsibility is to provide coverage in the field ensuring that mobile exams are completed accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment for applicants, clients, and employees, perform with confidence all aspects of an insurance exam, including specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. May also be required to act as coach, mentor, instructor and resource person for new employees who have completed the required phlebotomy training program.
Required Work Experience:
Minimum 100 documented successful blood draws required.
Minimum one-year phlebotomy experience. Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients is a plus.
Preferred Work Experience:
Prefer urine or hair follicle collection and EKG experience.

Ensures all specimens are collected accurately and on time.
Collects specimens according to established procedures.
Conducts in center exams and mobile exams, which include taking basic vitals, medical histories, venipuncture, urine collection, and EKG. Also collects specimens for pre- employment drug screenings and other Quest Diagnostics services.
Responsible for completing application packets and other paperwork accurately.
Label, centrifuge and split specimens as required by test order.
Upload and complete cases in portal within 24 hrs on weekdays and within 48 hrs on weekends.
Package specimens for transport and ship to lab indicated on work orders.
Responsible for the safe and timely transporting of specimens, supplies, equipment and materials to the appropriate destination.
Maintains records of each specimen collected each day. Support Record Deletion process when directed by Management.
Submits original paperwork to destination.
Provides customer service to clients.
Follows current Examiner's Manual.
Reads, understands and complies with departmental policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual).
Maintains all appropriate Phlebotomy logs.
Maintains error rate of no more than 3%.
Confirms exams with clients day before appointment and status the case at time of confirmation.
Correct non-applicant errors within a 24 hour timeframe.
Submits accurate time and travel logs as directed by management and on time.
Submits accurate expense forms, if applicable, on the required day.
Properly clock in and out for work assignments.
Provides travel logs when applicable.
Demonstrates organizational commitment.
Adheres to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code and lab coat policies, appearing neat and clean at all times. Be aware of smoke residue and heavy fragrances.
Wear company issued identification badge at all times during work assignments.
Reports on time to work, following attendance guidelines.
Answers the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, by incorporating the company name, self-identification and a helpful statement.
Communicates appropriately with customers, agents, applicants, coworkers and the general public.
Communicates all unresolved problems immediately to the appropriate Manager or Supervisor.
Remains polite and courteous at all times.

Assist with periodic inventory counts, report shortages and problems to Manager or Supervisor as they occur; stocks supplies as needed.
Provide supply orders as specified by Branch Manager.
Work effectively with staff employees to ensure compliance with dress code, EHS & QA requirements, customer service requirements and SOP's, advising Manager or Supervisor of any issues or problems as they arise.
Performs other department-related clerical duties when assigned.
Answers phone and dispatch calls when assigned.
Participates on teams and special projects when asked.
Assist Manager or Supervisor with the implementation of SOPs for examiner services in accordance with Quest Diagnostics guidelines.
With direction and guidance from Manager or Supervisor, and having appropriate training guidelines, act as mentor and resource person for new employees providing support for department protocols, practices and procedures.
Assist with distribution of technical information and communications to the work group.
Flexible travel (up to 25 mile radius) and flexible work hours. Maintain dates of availability and dates unavailable in Examview.

The Senior Ultrasound Clinical Account Specialist (ULS CAS) is accountable to provide technical and clinical product support to health care providers including Electrophysiology (EP) physicians, Interventional Cardiologists (IC) and laboratory staff for electrophysiology diagnostic and therapeutic catheters and systems - with an emphasis on the AcuNav and SOUNDSTAR catheters - to enable practitioners to perform advanced cardiac ablation and interventional procedures respectively.
The CAS is responsible to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with physicians & EP laboratory staff in order to identify and foster interest in new products or product indications to grow and develop the company's product and technology utilization. The ULS CAS directly partners with a Regional Business Director, Territory Managers, EP CAS, Field Service Engineers and Field Management to ensure alignment and coordination of activities to meet business objectives.
As the Senior Ultrasound Clinical Account Specialist, you will:
* Provide expert clinical product and technical assistance and training to EP/IC physicians and staff on the effective use of AcuNav and SOUNDSTAR catheters in EP and IC procedures.
* Provide expert clinical product and technical assistance and training to physicians and EP Lab Staff on the effective use of electrophysiology systems and catheter equipment (e.g., The CARTO System and appropriate software modules including CARTOSOUND , CARTOMERGE and the Stockert RF generator) during case procedures within an assigned geography, and in a manner that leads to meeting and exceeding business goals.
* Educate customers on all electrophysiology products to optimize effective usage by providing technical and clinical information and in-service training. Shares best practices to increase value for customers.
* Use consultative selling techniques to identify potential sales opportunities within the account.
* Create awareness of electrophysiology solutions and facilitates Territory Sales Manager (TM) contact with the key decision makers to drive incremental business.
* Maximize customer case support capability through proper planning and scheduling techniques.

* Must have and maintain certification as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in adult or pediatric echocardiography.
* Must have and maintain advanced clinical ultrasound and echocardiography knowledge of technology, advancements and the business landscape.

Internship Details
Duration: 11 weeks, full-time
Dates of Internship: June 1, 2026 - August 14, 2026
Location: Birmingham, AL
Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2026 through June 2028 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

About the Team:
Our Diagnostics Laboratory team operates in a fast-paced, production-driven environment where accuracy and efficiency are key. Interns will be immersed in the daily operations of a clinical lab, gaining exposure to specimen processing, instrumentation, and workflow management. You'll work alongside experienced Technologists and Supervisors who are passionate about mentoring and developing future lab professionals. You will primarily support Chemistry.
Internship Assignment Summary:
Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
Replenish test bench supplies as needed
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
Develop, complete, and present a Process Improvement Project
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
Be working toward a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor's degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Show initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision
Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career as a Laboratory Technologist
Be able to lift and rotate up to 30 pounds regularly

LabCorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in Cullman AL. The Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.
The schedule for this position will be: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens
Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Resolve and document any problem specimens.
