T-Rex Solutions is seeking a Microsoft Purview Administrator to bring their expertise to a new project in Washington, DC supporting our US Treasury customer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management and maintenance of our Microsoft Purview applications, with a focus on setting up and maintaining user accounts, ensuring system enhancements, and supporting the Microsoft 365 environment in a highly secure, classified environment. This role can be performed on-site in Washington, DC if local to the area, or up to 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and test data governance and compliance policies, including data classification, labeling, and DLP policies. Monitor and optimize these policies to align with regulatory requirements.
Deploy and configure Microsoft Purview and integrated Microsoft 365 services. Administer and manage role groups, custom roles, and permissions within the Purview portal.
Mitigate risks by protecting sensitive data from internal and external threats. Implement information protection and insider risk management solutions. Respond to data protection incidents and participate in security investigations.
Manage and support eDiscovery workflows, which includes data collection, search, and export for legal and compliance teams.
Collaborate with data architects, analysts, IT, security teams, and business application owners to implement solutions and enforce governance best practices. Provide training and support to users on data protection tools and policies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of progressive IT experience OR an Associate's Degree with 7+ years OR 9+ years of IT experience
US Citizenship and must be able to obtain a public trust clearance.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview administration.
Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance principles.
Experience with data loss prevention (DLP), data classification, and sensitivity labeling.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 environments and related services like Microsoft Entra ID.
Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell is a plus.
Experience with risk assessments and audits.
Ability to develop and implement security and compliance policies.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Treasury or IRS systems is a plus

Description:
Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of ImageTrend's product databases. This role manages database environments across development and production, oversees data integrity, and optimizes resources for growth and cost efficiency. The Database Administrator collaborates closely with development teams on design and deployment, responds to performance and data requests, and implements best practices for security and compliance.
What You'll Do:
Ensure security standards for database access are upheld (encryption, external client access)
Manage resource storage and compute for growth and cost optimization
Participate actively in the development and deployment process for pipeline changes
Collaborate with development teams on database design, including partitioning, indexing, and key distribution strategies
Respond promptly to user data and performance requests and resolve database issues in both production and development environments
Ensure data integrity across all systems and environments
Regularly monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing
Configure, manage, and maintain Azure Synapse Analytics workspaces and SQL managed instances
Monitor and manage data lakes, including ETL/ELT processes for large-scale data operations
Design and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity
Develop scripts or use tools to automate routine database tasks (e.g., maintenance, monitoring)
Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and recovery procedures
Ensure databases meet regulatory compliance standards and assist with audits

Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of ImageTrend's product databases. This role manages database environments across development and production, oversees data integrity, and optimizes resources for growth and cost efficiency.
