Jonathan Halstuch is the Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of RackTop Systems. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech and holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering as well as a master’s degree in engineering and technology management from George Washington University. With over 15-years of experience working for the federal government as an engineer, technologist, and manager he has a broad range of experience. Jonathan hopes to help all organizations and their customers by providing them efficient and effective IT solutions that meet the organization’s operational need and serve that purpose better than any other solution available.

I am a technical leader, architect, and implementor, with experience at all levels in the stack: kernel, device drivers, management plane, networking, and cloud orchestration. I have built and led world-class international development teams, designed award winning and record setting products. I'm also the founder of the illumos open source operating system project, and a frequent contributor there. I'm also the principle author and maintainer for a number of messaging (nanomsg, mangos) products and a variety of other widely used open source projects.Specialties: Kernel, embedded systems, and device driver development. Storage networking and storage virtualization. Systems management software for deployment at scale.High level systems architecture. Technical team leadership.I'm seeking a position that will allow me to utilize my extensive experience and expertise -- systems architecture, low-level kernel and embedded systems, cloud orchestration, low level networking -- to lead (building if needed) a high performing team to deliver amazing products. I enjoy hands on work, but I think my real potential is to leverage my considerable background to mentor and lead a larger team to success.
