Fortunately for Rahr, as well as everyone else, prohibition came to an end in 1933 and they could again produce malt for a thirsty population.
Rahr also found an eager workforce and a welcoming city in Shakopee, according to a February 6, 1936 article in the Shakopee Argus-Tribune.

By focusing on mom-and-pop shops and casting himself as the “underdog” distributor, he grew the company into the largest privately held pharma wholesaler in the United States He sold the business, named Kinray, to Cardinal Health in 2010 for $1.3 billion.
