Zimo began selling NMRA compliant DCC systems in 1994.

1995

In April 1995 it announced it had gained a $2.4 million agreement with Western Australia’s BHP Iron Ore railroad.

1996

Offered their Power Grid Systems command control system, which was compatible with the Zero 1 system, in 1996.

In 1996, Harmon was selected to provide the signals and control systems for the Florida Overland Express’ high-speed route between Miami, Orlando, and Tampa Bay.

In 1996 the firm announced ISO-9001 certification with TickIT for its Grain Valley and Warrensburg, Missouri, manufacturing plants and its engineering offices in Omaha, Nebraska; Jacksonville, Florida; Louisville, Kentucky; and Grain Valley.

1997

Harmon at the end of 1997 was creating a Mexican subsidiary and trying to expand its operations in China and India.

Fast forward to the end of the 20th century and James W. and David E. Hanscom explain the 1997 merger study undertaken for CSX Transportation on the eve of the Conrail split.

1998

In 1998 Harmon Industries operated under the directions of its ten-member Board of Directors chaired by Bob Harmon, the only member of the Harmon family still involved in the firm.

2015

Jump ahead 30 years: According to a reader survey by Model Railroader in 2015, NMRA Digital Command Control was used by 59% of the respondents.

2020

Today that would cost more than $800 (2020). An additional extra cost third party 24V 4A transformer was required to provide power.
