Role Description
We are seeking an experienced project engineer to lead the engineering of utility-scale projects utilizing Form's multi-day energy storage product. This role will sit within our Project Engineering organization which is responsible for the deployment, commissioning, and operations of Form Energy's customer projects. In this role, you will oversee project engineering from early conceptual design through detailed design and execution. You will take the lead in managing and solving technical challenges related to the design, engineering, procurement, and construction of pilot and commercial scale projects. You will work closely with EPC partners to align plant-level design with product requirements.
This is a critical role to ensure the successful execution and deployment of Form's multi-day battery product and its integration with customer systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable communicating frequently with internal and external stakeholders and shall be capable of working both collaboratively and independently.
What you'll do:
Create conceptual project layouts and single line diagrams and support interconnection and permitting applications, long lead equipment specifications and procurement, and design and construction RFP creation
Lead the development and own the balance of plant design package, including site civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, and network architecture designs, ensuring compliance with project and product requirements and other applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards
Provide technical support during project execution, including reviewing RFIs, submittals, field quality checks, site safety planning, and supporting commissioning
Support Project Manager from initial planning to commercial operation, especially with document control, budget oversight, quality control, schedule, contract management and value engineering for budget and schedule optimization
Work closely with Form's Product Engineering and Product Management teams to document product requirements and technical specifications
Travel to client or project sites up to 30% of the time
What you'll bring:
7+ years of experience in renewable energy project engineering or deployment and a bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering
Demonstrated track record of executing utility-scale energy storage and/or renewable energy projects from development to operation, including feasibility studies, project planning, preliminary design, detailed design and engineering, permitting, and interconnection
Strong knowledge of codes and standards for ESS installation, including NFPA70, NFPA 855, IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800, UL9540, UL9540A
Excellent written and oral communication and the ability to coordinate and engage with external stakeholders, including clients, owner's engineers, EPC contractors, independent engineers, and AHJs

Engineer II & III- Independently contributor to the essential work of engineering project teams. Senior Staff Engineer- Is expected to pan, manage and coordinate individual and group efforts relating to the completion of multiple planning, engineering and architectural design project and assignments including research, proposed concept designs, formulation of budgets and cost estimates for customer review. The incumbent is expected to achieve specific project related goals within a previously determined budget and timeline, interact with customers to recognize and analyze engineering problems and generate solutions
including estimated costs to complete projects. In addition, to being capable of performing all the functions of lower-level peers, the Sr. Staff Engineer coordinates and establishes a consensus of approvals regarding designs, layouts, and equipment selections to facilitate resolutions. Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CivilEngineer to support the design and execution of utility scale PV Solar, BESS, and Wind projects. The right candidate must be competent to carry out, review, and analyze complex technical studies and project scopes, along with the ability to develop and review technical specifications, drawings and standards. Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Designs blueprints and models for roadways, water-run off systems, and any other related projects.
Performs all aspects of CAD functions as needed.
Performs calculations and detailed analysis of project components to ensure compliance with applicable codes and specifications, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
Reviews drawings and plans provided by others to identify errors and prevent any waste of time or need for rework in the field. Verifies all design files for accuracy, and thoroughness prior to release for construction.
Creates 3D models of project sites to guide GPS equipment through various project stages.
Compares elevations/grades throughout each project phase as relative to design plans. Ensures work is performed accurately and efficiently.
Plots maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations in comparison to other items in design plans.
Required to maintain accurate knowledge of governmental regulations, codes, ordinances, and other applicable items. Applies this knowledge to produce compliant designs and blueprints.
Works with project managers, inspectors, company management and officials to make clear plans and resolve issues to continue project execution.
Provides costing information for materials and labor based on customer specifications for quoting purposes.
Utilizes a variety of engineering software programs and applications including CAD, TOPCON, and others.
Performs general surveying and geographic mapping of construction/development sites.
Maintains confidentiality and protection of all business intellectual property, including blueprints, models, trade secrets, etc.

As temporary employees, CivilEngineer Interns are responsible for assisting Engineers & Designers in the plan production and the design of a variety of public/private sector projects, including public works infrastructure, transportation, traffic, water resources (storm water), private land development, subsurface utility engineering, and various types of site development projects. The CivilEngineer Intern position provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the planning, design and construction of civil infrastructure improvements (i.e., paving, drainage, grading, water, sanitary sewer and transportation facilities).
Responsibilities
Responsibilities require actively assisting Engineering Design staff in the plan production and design of projects.
Specific responsibilities include:
Assisting in conducting site investigations and feasibility studies for projects
Creating detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents under supervision
Supporting project managers, architects, and other professionals in developing project plans and deliverables
Assisting in calculations and analysis for structural integrity, load capacity, and environmental impact of designs
Learning and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and standards

Requirements
At a minimum, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:
Education/Certification
