Key Job Responsibilities
Ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance by adhering to regulations, standards, and internal policies, while promoting a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
De-pack lab pack quantities.
Perform bulk consolidation and lab pack consolidation.
Conduct daily compliance and area inspections.
Ensure proper classification, identification, packaging, and labeling of hazardous waste for transportation, treatment, and/or disposal.
Complete all regulatory paperwork to ensure environmental compliance with regulations and internal procedures.
Sample containers and in-house created materials.
Package, label, create shipping documents, load, and transport hazardous waste.
Handle material pour-offs.
Respond to spills and other emergencies.

Minimum Requirements
Associate's degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science preferred).
0-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and practices.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under minimal supervision.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Visual acuity to interpret test results and operate laboratory instruments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to learn new software systems and applications specific to the company's internal processes.

Position Summary

Retrieve and prepare retain samples for testing or inspection as requested.
Work closely with laboratory staff to ensure samples are stored in the correct containers, and that all required documentation is filed and readily accessible.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
Ensure that sample retain storage areas are well-maintained and that adequate supplies are available for sample collection and storage.
Be able to pick up samples from local offices as needed.

We are currently seeking a Lab Technician in our Pittsburgh, PA location.
Performs a variety of duties involving the laboratory testing of complex prototypes in the process of research and development, to determine the acceptable standards of performance theoretically established by engineering. Assist engineers in the fabrication, machining, bench work and assembly of models or prototypes. Sets up, arranges and operates mechanical or electrical test equipment in the proper test sequences. Tests prototype and records test data for analysis and evaluation by engineers. Identifies and documents deviations in electrical or mechanical reactions not anticipated in indicated test procedures. Be available for travel to third-party test laboratories to support compliance testing of new products. May offer technical input within limits based on scope of knowledge and experience. When directed, tests competitive products or spot tests manufactured products or components for quality control purposes. Assist with evaluation, repair and processing of Benshaw equipment returned from customers. Other duties will include but are not limited to occasional support of product manufacturing that would help with product shipments or product development.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Requires completion of a 2-year technical degree program plus five or more years of experience.
• Strongly preferred training in Electronic Technology; additional training with Microsoft products will also be required.
• 3 to 5 years' experience with In-House and/or Field Service repair work related to Motor, Power Electronics, and/or Motion Control equipment.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening) and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of professionals.
• Ability to write clear and concise reports summarizing testing results.
• Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
