What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Medical Office Clinical Receptionist Process
Under direct supervision, is responsible for performing a variety of general administrative support duties associated with the patient intake process and performs routine duties within the clinic and may work in back office as needed.
Performs patient check-in at the time of visit and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all clinic and regulatory policies are in compliance.
Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
Schedules appointments according to office guideline.
Obtains accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts.
Copies/scans patient access related hard copy materials (e.g., ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
Prepares charts for patient appointments making sure all necessary information is complete.
Conducts all functions associated with patient check-out including pricing services, collecting patient responsibility payments and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Performs duties involving record filing and retrieval and assisting with the filing of registration documentation in electronic medical records.
Confirms next day appointments and alerts patients as to what documentation is needed, including details associated with time-of-service payment.
Follows up with patients regarding the Missed Appointment Policy and sends out the appropriate communications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
May be asked to function as a MedicalAssistant which includes but is not limited to:
Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration, and perform routine tests such as EKG's.
Document plan of care, tests and examination results.
Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol.
Keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
Delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients, demonstrating excellent customer service while rooming patients, obtaining chief complaint and vitals, handling of specimens, charting visit information and performing injections as needed.
You may also be responsible for some administrative tasks on an as-needed basis.

Major Responsibilities:
• Deliver quality and compassionate care to every patient
• Guide parents and patients through our processes before treatment
• Take quality orthodontic facial photos Responsible for the operational readiness
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
This role does require traveling in the North Austin Region - North Austin (twice/week), Central Austin (twice/week), Elgin (once/week)
Qualifications:
• Active RDA Licence Required
• 1 Year Experience as Orthodontic Assistant Required

Wayne Pediatrics is looking for a MedicalAssistant to join our team of passionate providers and support staff. The position is responsible for both clinical and clerical responsibilities. The MedicalAssistant is responsible for providing the best service necessary to meet patient's clinical needs which include, but is not limited to; rooming patients for office appointments, close monitoring of physician daily schedules, ensuring that patients are seen timely, efficient communication is maintained with physician and patient's to avoid disruption to the clinic workflow. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented professional with a passion for providing excellent care to pediatric patients and their families.
Essential Functions:
Understands and follows all safety protocols
Greets patient and families in a warm and welcoming way.
Updates PCP, referring physician, and pharmacy information.
Documents patient vitals accurately in EMR.
Clinically interviews patient/guardian to obtain past medical and surgical history, diagnostic testing history, family medical history, and social history. Review systems. Any discrepancies must be noted.
Follows proper guidelines for disinfection of medical equipment and exam rooms after each use.
Daily quality control checks of the clinic emergency cart.
Promptly notifies provider that patient is ready to be seen.
Promptly notifies provider of any delays to the rooming process or provider schedule.
Maintains clinical area ensuring exam rooms are stocked, checking expiration dates.
Assists in accepting patient payments
Clerical tasks including offsite patient health history calls, data entry of offsite health history forms, data entry of portal health history forms, data entry of other health history forms received in office.
Maintains regular, punctual attendance in the office.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a MedicalAssistant training program
Medical certification through AAMA or ability to certify within the first 90 days of employment
2-3 years of direct patient care experience.
1 year with pediatric population (preferred)
Physician office experience (preferred).
Experience understanding and navigating through an EHR/EPM system
CPR, basic life support for infants and children (Preferred)
Advanced cardiac life support certification (desirable)
